“The Avett Brothers are poised to have one of the biggest years of their career in 2016. Set to headline the always fun Mountain Jam festival alongside Wilco and Beck, the folk rockers are also planning their first-ever appearance at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City. On top of all of that, The Avett Brothers are celebrating the release of their latest live album, Live, Vol. Four, and have fans on the edges of their seats waiting for their next studio album — the follow-up record to 2013’s Magpie and the Dandelion — which is set to hit shelves sometime this year.”
Thanks to The Boot for naming us one of “15 Americana, Alt-Country and Folk Artists to Watch in 2016.” Click here to read the full article.

Over the 4+ years since our sweet daughter, Hallie, was first diagnosed with a brain tumor, you have unselfishly and generously helped us raise over $400,000.00 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Melanie and I know that every walk, run, auction, and bake sale in which you contribute leads us closer and closer to understanding and curing this deadly disease.
St. Jude is our home; we will never stop fundraising for them. However, for the upcoming year, Melanie and I believe that there are doctors and researchers – some of whom work outside St. Jude – who also deserve our focus and support. For this reason, we have established The Crawford Fund in support of the Pediatric Inherited Genomics Research Pipeline Project at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) in New York City.
Dr. Michael Walsh, one of Hallie’s former St. Jude doctors, is a champion for the clinic that tests the genetics of every child treated for cancer at MSK – in the future, we hope that this testing will also include their family members. Recently, Dr. Walsh was the first co-author among a leading group of researchers who took part in a groundbreaking study published in The New England Journal of Medicine. This study encourages parents and siblings of pediatric cancer patients with certain heritable genetic mutations to be tested, as they may be predisposed to cancer themselves.
We believe that genetic testing is one of the best ways for doctors and researchers to gather and correlate information leading to a greater understanding behind the basic science of cancer. We hope that this will lead to more humane treatments, and ultimately, a cure.
As always, we appreciate your love and support.
