first concert of theirs i went to since their performance at bonnaroo. bonnaroo was sick but there is nothing like seeing the avett brothers play at home.
This was my first show, so I am weighing in since i didn't realize that this functionality was possible. I am sitting here listening to live volume 3 and it is bringing back awesome memories of that incredible night at Bojangles!!! LOVE YOU BOYS!
And Sing they did! OHHH What a Night! There IS no better way to spend an evening than at an Avett Brothers show. How I wish it was a more frequent event! There was magic in the air as the ENTIRE AUDIENCE (and a pretty large one at that) sang their hearts out with the boys they adore. The gratitude for the Avett Brothers and what they bring to our lives was undeniable as the fans embraced TAB's graduation back in their hometown.
I drove from Atlanta in hopes of capturing one last show of innocence before they catapult their way into fame. I didn't quite make it in time. This was far from intimate, but I quickly worked my way to the floor and close to the front. Once they came on, I was immediately engulfed in the harmonies of the bango, guitar, bass, and those glorious imperfect voices that fill my heart with a smile after just one note. And of course... ALL THE FABULOUS SHOUTING & SCREAMING & STOMPING - my favorite part! Soon - it was just the five of us, and oh right ... HOW many others? But Wait ... They ALL know the words too... ALL the words. So it's not just me, and it won't be just us! The point being - The Avett Brothers will always touch you, no matter how big they get. It's who they are. They will always hold us hostage through the honesty of their lyrics and music, and the kindness in them that shines through. It is in their blood. These are the kind of guys you want your son to be.
Here's to the journey so far and the journey to come. You can't go wrong with The Avett Brothers, and I look forward to supporting their success as we march through time! I am so thankful to have discovered them so many years ago, as they have graced my ears every day since the first time I saw them. They are my go-to.
I can't wait until the next show!

What a great show! this is the second time I have seen The Avett Brothers...and both times have been absolutely GREAT! The only problem with the show was that it had to end sometime!!! I could have rocked out with them all night! So awesome to get posters and the live EP from the show....Those guys really know how to treat their fans!!! Can't wait to see them next time they are in town.
It"s been 5 days since the show and I still can"t get the words to Salvation Song out of my head. what a perfect closer. You guys are awesome and I will remember that show for the rest of my life.

What a night. Thank you thank you thank you Seth, Scott, Bob, and Joe for an incredible show. It will always be a night to remember and I'll never forget it. I bought the 2 tickets back in May while abroad in Europe as a Father's Day gift for my dad and it just so happened that I returned to the US on August 7th, the day before the show. I was a little jet-lagged and road weary but the atmosphere of that place lifted me right back on my feet where I stayed for the whole show.
It was great to hear both Seth and Scott on the keys and it was awesome to finally get to see them with Joe and truly understand how much his cello adds to the group. When Seth choked up on 'Love and Hate' I got goosebumps. Salvation Song was the perfect closer. In the last 4 days have only taken my concert tee off to shower!
It was great to go with my dad, too. When we got in there he was immediately reminded of so many Checkers games from his youth and a handful of historical bands he got to see in the very same place - Neil Young, Led Zeppelin, etc. I hope one day I have the chance to a show there with my own child and I'll point at the stage and say, "Seth and Scott Avett stood right there and played the best concert of my life on August 7th, 2009."
Thanks for the music. See you when you get back home, boys.
LOVED the show at Bojangles !! Every single person knew every single word to every single song, and we were all screaming them out. It was more like a massive group sing-along rather than a concert. Bonnie came out and helped sing a couple of songs!! It was the sweetest thing! The boys played for what seemed like forever (which was fine with all of us), and their energy didn't cease the entire night. Not unusual for them, but for such a long show...impressive. Anyways, an amazing night it surely was. It'll be hard to wait for the next time I get to see them.
Love, Love, Love to you, Avett boys !!!!!
THANK YOU !!!!!!

Dude, you and your wife should be on reality TV show. That being said have a great time at the show and who knows maybe we'll meet up, eh? Right on bro!!!!
Hey all,
Just thought I'd share what a huge fan my 36yo wife is. We first saw the Avett's at Telluride a few years ago. I took my wife to her first show in 2007 in Orlando at the Social. That was it!! She was sold. Not since the Grateful Dead had I seen her so enamored and fanatic about a band. She turned into a little school girl psyched to go on tour. We drove the next night to Tampa to see them instead of going to our office Holiday party.
She took it then upon herself to fly to Santa Cruz and San Fran and catch those shows in 2007 and 2008. She's still super pissed at me for losing the videos she took in santa cruz when my hard drive crashed.
We moved back from Denver to Atlanta this past year and saw them in Athens and Chattanooga. We've been super psyched about the new album and Charlotte shows for a while.
HERE"S THE NEWS!! She's as pregnant as pregnant gets and our due date of 8/18/09 is around the corner. We have pre-sale seats which we've been going back and forth on as to the safety for the baby. I'm a physician and moderately comfortable with the road trip knowing that Presbytarian Hospital in Charlotte can help her deliver if we need to while at the show.
She's been set on naming our son, if it's a son (since we didn't find out) Avette out of her love for the band as well as our family's love for Corvettes (mostly because of the band though). Tie that in with her passion and determination to make it to Charlotte, and I thought it would be a story worth sharing and that the fans and even the band would like to know.
We'll be sitting in section 107 row F seats 4 and 5, hopefully positioned well enough for her to see while staying seated.
Nothing would surprise her more than being acknowleged by the band or fans or anyone for all she's doing for the visceral live experience that is the Avett Brothers.
If anyone reads this and has the notion to help gain some momentum of attention towards Alisha and her story, that would be awesome, otherwise, just know what a profound effect this great, honest, passionate band has had on a couple of middle aged music fans about to start a family. Cheers and thanks,
Chad
Yes I am broke like the rest of you I'm sure. BUT, nothing that this world could bring or anything someone could do, will hold me back from going to this concert on Saturday! The wife and I will be there!

I just got a new camera (with HD recording capability!) specifically for my TAB show experiences but read on the bojangles site that cameras are prohibited.
Anyone have any experience with this? I have seen the boys on several occasions and in a wide array of venues and have yet to have any problems taking in a camera.
I saw some people asking about receiving their tickets. My confirmation email said that they should arrive in the mail about a week before the show, and it listed a number to call if they don't show up.
I just realized I can't go. Trying to sell my tickets too...check out my post on the board under the tickets section. I'm pretty disappointed, but I hope everyone else has a really good time.

I got tix in sec 109 row B seats 3&4 during the first pre-sale, My wife will be 8 months pregnant for the show and there is no way she'd be able to stand the whole time. I'm just curious as if anyone knows do the seat numbers start with 1 closest to the stage or furthest from it?
i got my tix yesterday. GA floor tix were available all day....haven't checked today. i ended up getting seated tix behind the box seats in sec. 122...doesn't look to be too bad.
i can't wait.

Changing the plans that I’ve been setting on
I’m scared by the way that my life is getting gone
I got tickets during the presale, but I checked just a few minutes ago on Ticketmaster and GA tickets were available. Might be gone soon, but give it a shot...you know it won't be hard to sell your other tickets.
Floor Tix sold out FAST! Best available offered to me during the pre-sale were 'nose-bleed' seats. I got back on just to see what would happen during the regular sale, and I'm halfway closer to the stage. So the (forgive me for saying this) 'hardcore fans' fill out the upper section? I've seen pre-sales for shows that sale a particular section off, but keep sections at most every proximity open to the general concert-goer. What's wrong with that? Everyone wins. So I work third shift, get to bed around 7:30am just to wake up for the day @ 10am for nosebleed tix? I'm glad to go, I know I'll have a good time regardless, I'd love to be on the open floor where my lady and I can cut a serious rug & I've got friends that want my nosebleed tickets. I'm just saying whomever designed the software that sold me these tix had their head on backwards that day. It's still awesome I don't have to drive 5 hours to Raleigh or Chattanooga this time. I'm just gonna be over here trying to get my humble & grateful mindframe back together...sorry..thank you.
i think it is, i tried today too and couldnt get the general tickets. but still got pretty good seats. just not on the floor. im just excited to be going.
I tried during the first presale to get tiks..and now have just tried to get tiks during this SECOND presale and have been unsuccessful. It is telling me there are no more general admission ($30) tiks left at all! Is that really true? I wanted to get right up close...
—
Maybe I don't have to be good but I can try to be
At least a little better than I've been so far
Yay! I just got 2 tickets in the second round pre-sale! I won't be as close to the stage as others, but I couldn't even hope for that. I'm so happy I get to go! Section 121, Row E, Seats 12 and 13.

Well poo, my idea to use my friend's blackberry failed miserably. I had to wait until I got home to purchase, and I got stuck in one of the side sections.

it lets me get to the page where you select the amount of tickets and the price, but then when I click the 'quick pick tickets' button it comes up with a red 'Attention' message saying they are unavailable. that can't really mean that they are sold out right, because wouldn't it say that on the first page?

I tried during the first presale to get tiks..and now have just tried to get tiks during this SECOND presale and have been unsuccessful. It is telling me there are no more general admission ($30) tiks left at all! Is that really true? I wanted to get right up close...
Maybe I don't have to be good but I can try to be

YAY
Yay! I just got 2 tickets in the second round pre-sale! I won't be as close to the stage as others, but I couldn't even hope for that. I'm so happy I get to go! Section 121, Row E, Seats 12 and 13.

Bah!
Well poo, my idea to use my friend's blackberry failed miserably. I had to wait until I got home to purchase, and I got stuck in one of the side sections.

having trouble
it lets me get to the page where you select the amount of tickets and the price, but then when I click the 'quick pick tickets' button it comes up with a red 'Attention' message saying they are unavailable. that can't really mean that they are sold out right, because wouldn't it say that on the first page?
Looking forward to this show!
So happy the boys are coming home! I am now seeing them three times, two weeks apart! Summer 09 is going to rock!
