I'm getting really psyched for my first Avett show next weekend. Have a couple questions.
Does anyone know who's opening? It looks like the park has picnic pavillions etc., is anyone getting together before the show? After the show? I see some people are coming from long distances, where are you all staying?

I was just @ Sunset Cove in December to see My Morning Jacket. I have been there multiple times, it's a great venue. It basically sits behind the park. There are pavillions and benches. There is also a kids playground and a lot of swampy water area. It is a beautiful park. Me and the wife are going to try to get there around the time we were there for My Morning Jacket's sound check. We are figuring around 3-4 ish p.m. is when they should be doing the sound check. This is the best time to get a chance to meet them, too. We saw My Morning Jacket members just walking around the area that same time we were there last. That's my plan for the show. I am always down to whatever, it would be kinda cool to meet some fellow Avett fans.

My wife and I are flying in from CO to see the Boca show.. (kicking off a vacation in the keys w/ some Avetts!) . i'm stoked! We're staying down the street at the Holiday Inn Express.
going to be driving all the way up from boynton, like 30 minutes away, to see the show. third time seeing them and i am super physced. we were thinking about getting there between 4-5, maybe earlier if we could catch the sound check. ive never seen a show at there but ive been to the park and im thinking, even in the rain(possible), that its going to be an amazing show as always. see you all there!
Just called the Amphitheater. No opener just the boys rocking out for probably over 2 hours! Only problem i might have is I'm driving from Orlando and don't get off work till 4. Going to have to fly down 95!
I doubt the brothers will play a two-hour set.
I could be wrong though. Seems a lot of the upcoming shows will be without openers. The shows in the past where there was no opener have just been normal length sets.
2 hours would be a long show, but when the computer crashed in Milwaukee the second night they played for about 2:15. So just hope the computer crashes again. lol. I've got to drive back to Fort Myers after the show, so a long show with no opening act would be fine by me. Best of both worlds!
What's a "normal length set" I only saw them at Orlando Calling a few months back and they only had a little less than an hour and the only other thing I can base it on is Bonnaroo in 2010 which was about 1.5 hours so thought that being a festival too that an only Avett show would be about 2.
yeah about 90 minutes or about 20-22 songs is a normal length set. Every show varies but those are good measures to go by.
Awesome! Can't wait. Orlando Calling was a nice appetizer of sorts but a whole show is going to be great!
Boca Friday and Jax Saturday. This may be the best weekend of my life!

I just want to say hello and thank you to all who my wife and I were able to meet and chat with at the show. We had an amazing time meeting everyone.
