I heard that that song was based on a book or something. Does this sound familiar?

I would like to know myself. I would love to read whatever book it is based on. Someone please tell!
The recent article that talked about both of them getting teeth knocked out by microphones immediately reminded me of Go To Sleep.
The only time I've ever heard of their music being inspired by a book was the Mignonette connection, which has been elaborated upon in a number of interviews. I've never read anything similar regarding Go to Sleep, to my knowledge.
Linda...I don't think I saw that article, do you know where I can find it? Thanks!
I think I remember reading somewhere that "go to sleep, my man" was something Scott's wife used to say to him.
The story I heard had all of the above....something about drinking adult beverages, falling down or tripping, teeth getting knocked out, blood, and a wife saying those words, "Go to sleep my man". Never heard it was from a book though.
hear ya go, bigyellowdog! I think that is referenced in page two of the article.
