I received a Ticketmaster alert that the Avett Brothers will be at the Crystal Ballroom on Monday August 30....tickets go on sale today. Also, Portland station KINK is saying that the Avett Brothers will be performing in their new "BING" performer's lounge(seats about 160) sometime after their Gorge show....so I'm guessing Sun or Mon on that too? So glad they are making a quick trip back to the northwest....they are so loved up here!!

The show is on my birthday, so I really wish I could make it out to Portland for it. Alas, work calls. I'm jealous of all of you that get to attend!

Cannot wait for the intimate show too! Just got my tix...will be joining you timdog and others! Had trouble with the computer links....had to eventually call to get my tickets. Seeing them Sat. in the Gorge also....now to score those KINK tickets!!
This show is the day after my birthday, so ... if anyone would like to get me the best gift ever! HA! Sucks to be broke!!

Just got my ticket! I could not believe my eyes when I saw this post- thanks for the head's up Chrissydee! I will have to arrive late- working until 8:30. Oh well, I'm thankful that I can be there for part of the show!

Wow, this is awesome. I was talking to a friend the other day, saying that I know the Avett's are almost too big in Portland to play Crystal anymore, but that I wish they'd do it just because they love the venue. I even said something like, "yeah, I'd even be willing to pay more for the tickets to see them there." And now a couple weeks later I get an e-mail alert about a last second 500-ticket show at the Ballroom. It will be worth every last penny! Can't Wait!
This is a wonderful benefit--not just the show, but also the growing urban agriculture movement that they are supporting. As cheesy as it sounds, it makes me love them even more. /End cheesiness.
The Crystal Ballroom site also lists a "solo set by Langhorne Slim" added to the bill. Jesus, as if the night couldn't be more spectacular....Monday cannot get here fast enough.

One last time in a small venue (and The Crystal, no less!) Bringing a newbie with me and she is about to have her head blown off!

@olychild - I didn't mean it that way. I would pay twice that to see them in such an intimate setting (and probably twice again). I meant "AS IF there will still be tickets left on the day of the show". Don't you think it will sell out quick?
I almost couldn't believe it when Langhorne announced he's opening... For something like this to come together in the span of a few days is amazing... The venue, the bands, and only 500 tix make me so excited for this show. I can't wait!!
Gotcha Dave. I've already had to miss 3 NW shows due to my accident & now I'm missing this one. My disappointment knows no bounds
