Sarah Jarosz

Sarah Jarosz

I was doing the Itunes, "people who bought this also bought" thing, about six pages away from anyone I'd ever heard of I found this girl. Firmly rooted in bluegrass but not traditional. (not realy TABish but might appeal to the those who like Mumford and Sons)

I'd never heard of her but looks like she's been the bluegrass "it" girl for a few years.

Sarah is an extremely talented young woman. She plays multiple instruments and has a nice voice, really quite talented, I have caught her on a couple of occasions. Once opening for the Dave Rawlings Machine in December, and saw her just a couple of weeks ago at an Austin City Limits TV Taping (co-bill with Steve Martin) that will be broadcast on PBS the last week of October. I liken her music to more of a Nickle Creek feel, and I believe Chris Thile helped her early in her career. Check her out when she comes to town, it will be a nice evening!
