My best friend Ben and I in highschool both liked bluegrass and his brother Fleming listened to the Avetts, and he put it on my ipod and since that happened they were all I listened to in highschool, then about 6 months after I graduated I signed up to join the Coast Guard and I was set to ship off to bootcamp Jan 07. My 19th birthday was Dec 29th 06' which happened to be the same day that The Avett Brothers were playing at Lincoln Theatre, and my friend Ben gave up his ticket for me for my birthday and last party before bootcamp, so from then on ive listened to them constantly, and have all of there albums. While I was at bootcamp my dad needed something to do while i was gone so i left him my ipod and he has since become a huge Avett fan. I have since seen them play at the NC Museum of Art, and was lucky enough to see them play down here in New Orleans at Jazz Fest where my dream came true and got to meet the band and got there autographs.
