Defying to go commercial with pop/middle of the road cash cow melodies with obvious hooks, The Avett Brothers have remained true to the highest form of creative genius. Each song tells a story, bearing the artist's soul. It is genuine. It is true.

Very few bands have ever done this. The Avetts are united for the sake of the music and not for wooing the big musical monster industry. While almost every artist that wants air play must deal with them, The Avett Brothers do so while NOT selling out. They would rather walk away and record independently. And for that, I truly love them. They are musicians in the true sense. And in today's world, that is a hard choice to maintain.

Their sound is nothing like I have ever heard. It is new. It is fresh. It is the best damn combination I've ever heard. It defies classification. Therefore, it is magic. It cannot be copied. It is a rare find in these days of computer generated techno monotomous sound bytes.

Their style crosses all generations. Young and old both find brillance in their music. Therefore, The Avetts are timeless. And that, my friends is what great music is all about.
