I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...the music is stirring, the lyrics are true, and the performances defy description. Even more important though, is the passion. Listen to the songs, go to a show, watch the guys talk about their music and it becomes quickly evident that they're passionate about what they're doing. It's inspiring to see a group of guys so committed to putting everything they have into their art, their work. It always makes me ask myself, "Am I that passionate about what I'm doing?" If I'm not feeling that way at the moment, I better stir myself up and get that way. If I can't do that, I need to find something else to do because if you're not living with the kind of fire The Avett Brothers have, how much are you really living?
