I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...

Because in early August, I snuck out of my house at six in the morning and drove to Newport, Rhode Island for a concert I wasn't even sure I was going to like. I knew maybe three bands playing all day, but I decided to go anyway.

Because, holding my frozen lemonade I had spent my last four dollars on, I heard a band I had never heard of be introduced, and subsequently blast into their first song. The first of many.

Because I stood totally transfixed for their whole performance, yet somehow by the end of it I had wedged myself all the way up front (I still don't remember moving) and was screaming at the top of my lungs.

Because I have never had a band work their way into my ribcage that fast before or since.

Because they made me like bluegrass when I said I never would.

Because now I eat music I would've otherwise sworn off like normal people drink coffee.

Because they are really that good.
