I'm a fan because I heard the Avett Brothers about three years ago (late summer of 2007). I heard them from a friend that went to ECU who had been to one of their concerts and bought a CD that he would not stop playing... And for good reason. It made a four hour ride feel slightly fun and good spirited. Ever since then I have introduced all of my friends to them, and they all seem to like it. My grumpy old father can be found singing along sometimes as well. hahaha
