"The merchant looked straight at her and says, "Those aren't Dave Matthews shirts."

HA! She was stupified. She said "yeah, I'm aware of that. No. 1 in a small, No. 2 in a Large, please."

I wish I could say that the show was incredible, and tell everyone all about the screaming loads of fans singing their hearts out and singing the praises of the boys, but I can't. The truth is that there were only approximately 200 people watching them at this show. Some folks may think, "200 people!? God I wish I could see such an intimate show again these days!" but it's not like that. The ampitheater they played in has about 2000 seats that are under an awning, and then the lawn behind. Almost all of the seats remained empty through the boys' show due to freakishly insane rains that were pouring down on Dallas the majority of the evening on that Saturday. People were holed-up in their cars waiting for the rains to slow down, which didn't happen until after the boys' set. And, of course, most people were there to see Dave Matthews Band. Not the Avetts.

I still had an wonderful time, even though I was one of the only folks who had ever even heard of them. I was singing along to every song (except the new one that I still don't know the name to) and the setlist was great! Got to see Seth solo "my last song to jenny", but I would've liked to have been much closer. I was in reserved seating, but not the first tier, so there were quite a few DMB fans around me talking while I was trying to listen intently, hanging on every word. Those talking fans made it kinda hard.

The boys never showed any signs of discontent, and played just the way we've always loved, but didn't feed any energy off the crowd... unless they could hear me Smiling

Funniest part - after the DMB show, we went to the merch tent and TAB's stuff was hanging on the wall to the far left (we were at the far right). All of the shirts were numbered, with 1-4 being Avett shirts and 4-15(or something, I didn't pay attention to them) being DMB shirts. My girlfriend flagged down the merchant and said, "I'd like a No. 1 in a small and a No. 2 in Large."
