Showed up late (right at the start of the Fall with G Love) and it was still worth the full day pass. Yet another wonderful time with the brothers

For those of you I was fortunate enough to meet at the Canopy Club show in Urbana in October of last year, I'm also one of the promoters of Summer Camp. This is going to be our 10th year, and the second time the Avett Brothers have graced our festival. I couldn't be more excited about the band coming back!

I'd love to see the Avetts fully represented in the crowd on Sunday. If you don't want to, or can't afford, the full 3-day festival ticket you can still get a Sunday-only ticket - which gets you access to the park for all day Sunday when the Avetts play. Plus access to the festivals other 4 stages, musician workshops, another 20+ bands and lots of other cool stuff.

I hope you'll all be there. You won't be able to miss me. I'll probably have the biggest smile on my face, or potentially flipping a golf cart with excitement (which is what happened in 2008 when I rolled up to their set). Smiling

Just got my Sunday-only tickets this evening. This'll be the fifth Avett show for me and my wife in the less than a year since we discovered them. But that's an old story, isn't it?

Yep. I said it. I'm going and I can't wait. Going to be a great oppurtunity to see this band at their finest.

Okay, the fact is Gary Richrath of REO Speedwagon was born in a Peoria and grew up across the river in East Peoria. Chillicothe is just a few miles up the river from Peoria. Neal Doughty, from Indiana, went to the UofI at Champaign. Kevin Cronin is from Evanston, IL. According to my older sisters, REO played many bars in Champaign (UofI) and Bloomington/Normal, Il (ISU) in the beginning and when they got big, all of central Illinois tried to claim them.

But what REO has to do with Avett Brothers, is beyond me.

I just noticed this show today, I'm moving to Peoria tomorrow. Hop, skip and a jump away!

Chillicothe is 30 minutes from our home....Laughing out loud
