went and saw the avett's last night at artpark in lewiston. like always the boys were fantastic. the opening acts were pretty darn cool also. my only issues were 1) seats we though we were getting good seats in the front center of a section...only to be right behind the sound tables and techs which were simply in the middle of an isle not in a well or booth. it is wrong in my eyes that they dont label these as "obstructed view" like they would for a ball game. next i have seen a few concerts at this venue and i can't believe that the bands and techs simply go with the horrible speaker setup that is offered from this venue. not a single speaker off of the stage what so ever? words were constantly mumbled and certain instruments (joe!) were lost. i am sure that the bands usually travel with some equipment or could rent some to give their fans the show they deserve. the only othe ish i had at all was: i know les was the main act but with the avett's being so big now and having such a loyal following the opportunity for an oncore would have been nice. not getting to hear "i and love" or "paranoia" left me wanting more especially when i was bringing a bunch of people to hear them for the first time. don't mistake more constructive criticism...THE BAND ROCKED!!! the energy from everyone and quality and originality were fantastic. the playlist overall was great. the vocals on all the bands were lost and you couldn't actually see les claypool at all. boo to you artpark. you could do so much better. oh and not that it applied this time but if you go and want to hear the music never sit outside...the speakers from 1980 are ruined and of horrible quality...again the venue should do better but the bands should have their techs do a pre-check of the venue and see how lacking this place is with sound.

love the abbets will def. see them again. maybe in pa or oh at end of the summer.
