We had a great day with the Avett Brothers at Appel Farm Festival. Perfect place to see the band and the fans were thrilled. Great music all day long and the crowd was small enough to get up front and see the band and big enough to share the excitement. The band obviously had a ball, playing some songs you don't always hear and coming back for two encores.

Great to see such Avett love in South Jersey!

This was my first outdoor Avetts show, and out of the shows I've been to it wasn't tops. However, pretty much none of this was the TAB's fault. The venue was nice, and it was a good little festival, but really it was just too small of a venue for the band's popularity. The venue's equipment wasn't working properly, and they couldn't mix to save their lives; levels clipping all over the place and the overall volume waaaaaay too loud it ruined the first few songs for me until my ears had numbed a bit. Also, the set was way too short; they came on around 7:30, plenty of time for a 2+ hour set, and yet the venue only gave them about an hour and a half tops with a one song encore, we were out of the lots and on our way home by 9:30.

But rest assured, TAB played their heart out as can only be expected. I got to hear The Fall and Distraction 74, as well as getting to hear Rollin' in My Sweet Baby's Arms and Ballad of Love and Hate again. I probably won't go to this venue again unless it's my only chance to see TAB in the northeast, but I'm already trying to plan a trip to see the band once more this summer.

you guys gave such a great show last night! it was a great setting and a great set. thanks so much for being so giving in your performance!
