OOOHH--YAAAA!! Our fourth show this year and counting, my daughter, Vanessa, 22 years old, and I, loved the sunset show. The cool night breeze refreshed us while dancing to our favorite band. We saw the show back-to-back with he State Theatre in ME. The Avett Brothers performed every song as if it were their first and last time. How they manage to keep their music so fresh and filled with sentiment, at every opportunity, never ceases to astound me. They continuously express gratitude for the fans connecting us to their music through interaction. The songs reveal undeniable truth, humility, strength, and, hope for all that seek the capacity to identify with profound meaning. Each individual band member has an enormous impact on the Avett musical marvel. The harmony, lyrics, and, performance engage the subtle nuance of the band. The unique instruments and interaction with the audience touches the delightful feelings of love ".... and it spread ... into our hearts" These genuine gentlemen filled our hearts with the message of truth and love once again.
Well, I cannot put into words the feelings I felt this weekend.
First, I was blown away at the Essex Jct, VT show. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed that show and were fully prepared to see a less intimate "festival" type experience at mountain jam. As a Mtn Jam virgin I had no idea what to expect so we purchased VIP passes to get a better chance to be close to the stage. Well, we ended up front and center right under Joe!! It was beyond intimate, we were a part of the show, the vibe and interaction was awesome.
We got some awesome pics and video which I will post on you tube.
The icing on the cake was the opportunity to meet the guys for a few minutes and have Scott record a brief message to our 4&5 year old daughters(also huge fans).
Thank you guys for your heartfelt words and all of us will see you again next year
so the page where you buy tickets (higher ground), says the concert is at the expo center, but at the "midway lawn." it says you can bring blankets. Does this mean its an outdoor concert (sorry if i sound ridiculous, i just didnt know the expo did outdoor shows).
What time are people getting there, if the whole idea is to scout out a big enough lawn chunk for a blanket? haha, info info. also, WICKED EXCITED for the showww!!!
Anybody staying at the Days Inn in Essex Junction ? Will be arriving there on Thurs. It'll be my Girlfriend, her friend, and I and 2 more friends on Fri. Looking to meet people and make friends and have a damn good time. More the merrier ! Shoot me an email if so and we can all meet up. j.stan80@yahoo.com.
I have been waiting for months...the week is finally here we leave in three days and Friday is THE DAY. I can't believe it's only 4 days away!!! My first Avett Concert ever well worth the road trip!
I'm stoked Ohio on the 28,mountain jam the 4th,and this added bounus in VT,its been years since I've back to VT,avetts and old friends sound like good road trip!
@Ronster: You have us beat on miles. We are coming from the beautiful Gatineau Hills, just north of Ottawa a 5 hour drive and worth every minute. Lucky you! Mountain Jam would have been fun to go to also.
TAB what an awesome excuse for a getaway with my hubby....no kids!
Just saw them in Geneva,NY and it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. This is one band who's music can truely reach in and touch your soul. There are so many songs that they sing, that one can relate to at some point in there life, that they put it and sing it in such a way that it they truely do become a time machine. Can't wait to see them in Vermont and hope to catch them at Hunter Mountain the following night.
I can't believe it... Thank God they are coming within a 2 -3 hour distance of us in MA! Ye-Haaaaaaaa! Yooohoo!! WOO-HOOOO-WEEE!... just a little excited.
