I knew I was going to love the concert more than the last one I went to because there wasn't an opening band--just two straight hours of Avett Brothers goodness. I was on the floor rather close and could see really well. I was blown away that they played Love Like the Movies. Their two songs Never Been Alive and Geraldine got me really pumped for their new album--please, release it soon--and I hope those are on there. Just A Closer Walk With Thee was so fantastically well done, and it was sweet to watch because they sang with their arms around each other. A lot of the joy of getting to see them perform is that they obviously have a wonderful relationship with each other as brothers, not just musicians. I wasn't expecting to hear Ten Thousand Words, but it was lovely, and it was funny to watch because they were kind of giggling through it. It's a sure sign of a good show when Joe breaks a string mid-song and has to change it right there on the stage. I thought I was going to cry when they played If It's The Beaches--it's my favorite song. Talk On Indolence was a great way to end, and I think they play it faster each time I hear them play it live. Can't wait to see them again.

Here's the setlist - awesome show!

This show was awesome! My girl and I were about 30 rows back in the GA Floor and could see everything very well. I'm 6'1" so I knew I could, but she's 5'5" and could see too. The boys were awesome, it was my third time seeing them. Beale Street Music Festival 2010 and Hangout Fest 2010 were amazing shows also! Trying to get to BancorpSouth Arena in Tupelo, MS if I can find a some GA tickets reasonably priced. Will trade ride from Birmingham for tickets if your'e cool. I've been to BSA before and know the area.

So does anyone know the name of the gospel hymn the brothers played acoustic? It was awesome! I don't remember the set-list in it's entirety but they played almost everything off of I and Love and You and Paranoia in B. They played for almost 2 straight hours. This makes 2/3 of the shows I've been at that I have noticed the cello player break a string mid-song and re-string it right on stage and start back playing. I love this band!

Great show guys! Come back soon! Anyone have the set list?

Box office said no alcohol being served. Is this true. If so, why?

Have reserved seats in the back. Will I be able to see anything?

I'm so happy that the Avett Brothers are coming to B-ham. I missed them at Beale Street due to the stupid storms. I'm so glad to be seeing them..I'm pretty excited Smiling

Just purchased tickets, after missing them at Beale Street last year due to weather I have been bummed and excited to catch them playing ANYWHERE near me. I was overjoyed when I saw the Birmingham venue a 2 hour drive is PLENTY worth it, can't wait for the 17th!

Thanks for coming to town guys! we plan to rock the 'ham! Turn it to 11!

can someone post the link to buy tickets?

Parents just told me the bought me a ticket for this.. so looks like this is the 4th time I will see them in 11 months. NOT complaining.

Not the best venue in Birmingham - but it doesn't really matter - the Brothers gon bring it.

@buzzkill

Saw my first concert here...Paramore. Fun stuff. Anyway...the majority of the venue is General Admission. The standing floor is pretty big. Lots of room. It's a big venue. Smaller than the BJCC across the street, but not by much. Lots of seats as well. I'm really looking forward to seeing the Avetts in such a large--typically rock-ish--venue.
Hope that helps!

Does anyone know when tickets go on sale? I was going to the one in Oxford, but it was cancelled. Any help would be appreciated.

Has anyone ever seen a show in this auditorium? How is it?

Goin' through a tough situation and the Ave's have really been carrying me through.
