Just wanted to give a heads up to anyone who has not heard this band. I saw them last night in Philly open for Langhorne Slim and they were amazing! Here are a couple of clips. Hope everyone enjoys!

Fantastic Band!
I saw them open in Nashville...I really liked them a lot.

There's only one thing here worth hoping for.
I had the chance to see them open for Langhorne Slim at the Earl in ATL last weekend. They really killed it! Love to see them open for the Avett Brothers some time.
enjoyed them here in Austin a few weeks back
I saw them at the Earl, as well. They rocked, as did Mr. Slim. We picked up their album and it is really worth a listen. Western Skyline is my favorite song, so far.

Yes! Their lead singer is great and their drummer made me laugh with his funny faces. I had the god fortune of seeing both them and Langhorne for the first time this week. I loved them both so much that after Thursday's show at Johnny Brenda's, I drove up to New York to see them again on Saturday. So happy.
They put on a good show. They played one song with an extended guitar solo I was really digging, but I wasn't blown away overall. My g/f, on the other hand, was all about them.

Haha I know what you're talking about with the funny faces, greybird! That was pretty entertaining. Whatever you have to do to concentrate is ok by me.

What, he was using his funny faces to concentrate? No fair! I have a permanent funny face, but it doesn't help me concentrate on much of anything
Someone made a comment under a similar topic about seeing them live and not being too overly impressed, saying they thought Dawes' music was reminiscent of some 90's bands.. I didn't get the reference and thought the new album was excellent. After hearing them play last week in Little Rock, however, I think I understand where they were coming from now. I thought the music left a little to be desired (what happened to the beautiful harmonies????) and actually left after a few songs- mainly because whoever was running the soundboard had it cranked up ENTIRELY too loud. I am sure I would have enjoyed the show more than I did had this not been the case.. I did, however, see Elvis Perkins and AA Bondy silence the same venue at half the volume a few weeks back and was floored. If they're playing any more dates together that's within driving distance, it is definitely worth the ticket price.
