Anybody heard the new Cheerwine commercial? The voice sounds very familiar.

That sounds like Scott's voice, but where's his accent?!?
That's strange, I can't decide if I think that's him or not. My gut says it isn't, but I've been wrong plenty times before.
it sounds like him to me.
oh wow, that does sound like him!
I think it is him, it definitely sounds like him at least.
Plus on Cheerwine's facebook, they were giving away tickets to their shows, and they wanted to know why Cheerwine and The Avett Brothers are a perfect pair, Which I'd say: Because Scott's willing to advertise for them!
Sounds like Scott to me!!
i know that voice, and that is definately Scotts!
If that isn't Scott, it's a sweet imitation.
Oh, I'd say that is definitely him...kinda fun actually!
definitely!
sure sounds like him. and it is it would make total sense.
and it's awesome.
maybe I shouldn't think that. but I do.
That has to be Scott. Has to be.
OK, now I must finally try Cheerwine.
TommyFromNC, I was thinking the same thing!! Pretty cool!
I'm thinking it is Scott too.
TommyFromNC and PGFM you should try it over van. ice cream - it makes a great float!
Cheerwine is so good. So good! I just watched/listened to multiple interviews and I defiantly think it's Scott.
Scott's voice for sure. Perfect for that little history lesson. If Cheerwine does go national they should get the boys to do a commercial for the teevee. Everyone would buy it!
Haha, I was in Walmart a bit ago and was very tempted to buy cheerwine as a result of this new commercial. If only I didn't have such a restricted college budget! Maybe next time...
It certainly sounds like Scott. And amusingly, I just had a Cheerwine tonight at a friend's house... I'm usually a Pepsi girl, but they had Pepsi and Cheerwine, and for some reason a Cheerwine just sounded better tonight.
i have no idea what Cheerwine is, but I see it compared to Faygos and Vernors in the accompanying link, so I am On Board.
[Vernors, by the way; The best ginger ale ever!]
But what a cheesy name for a soft drink. *Sorry to you North Carolinians.
So Scott loves it? Any actual voice activation verification there?
I suspect Kid Rock and Eminem love Vernors (just guessing, but ethnic regions are Regions).
*I support any soft drink that fits within my musical preferences.
I am off to find out what Cheerwine tastes like.
I can't get that link to open, but I'll take everyone's word on it being Scott.
Lynn- I tried one when I was down in NC a couple weeks ago, and it tastes exactly like Faygo Red Pop to me. My inner 8 year old liked it, but it was very sweet for someone who is more accustomed to Diet Coke.
Thanks for the suggestion JCD...I will definitely try that!! I don't think you can go wrong with a float!
"Vernors, by the way; The best ginger ale ever!"
Absolutely!
@Lynn: "*I support any soft drink that fits within my musical preferences.
I am off to find out what Cheerwine tastes like"
I'm right behind you!
It would be great if *is* Scott and the sales make a drastic jump.
definitely him
How have so many of you from NC not had Cheerwine?? It might as well be our official drink!
The Avett Brothers and Cheerwine are an absolutely incredible combination..
Also..I really hope Cheerwine doesn't go national. For a long time now they've been our (slightly) hidden gem, and I'd hate to lose that!
Cheerwine is as sacred as chocolate milk and the Avett Brothers to me, so I think this has an inspired synergy. I'll bet anything that this deal was concocted sometime during last November's art colloquy, when Scott visited Salisbury (home of Cheerwine) to speak about his art and faith. The event was sponsored by (you've already guessed) Cheerwine! Ordinarily I'd feel a little badly about shilling a product, but Avetts + Cheerwine = NORTH CAROLINA in the best possible way! I love it!!!
And I can't believe you North Carolinians who've never had a Cheerwine. What the .. ???
Oh, ya gotta try the Vernors float too!!!! And those Cheerwine popsicles are sick!
let's not forget too, that the best cheerwine is in the bottle. natural cane sugar in it.
i made the boys cheerwine cupcakes for sunfest! left them with travis and i heard it through the grapevine that they get lots of sweets on the road and they usually last a few days, but the cheerwine cupcakes didn't last barely a day!
cheerwine floats are most delish...so were the cupcakes.
cupcakes were really easy & since some of you might be interested, here's the recipe:
for the cake:
1 box devil's food cake mix. make according to directions on box, but instead of the water, you use cheerwine and add 1 tsp. almond extract to batter. bake according to box.
frosting:
1/2 c. butter
1/3 c. cheerwine
1/4 c. cocoa powder
1 lb. or 2 1/2 c.'s powdered sugar
1/4 tsp. almond extract
mix butter and cheerwine together w/ mixer. add rest of ingredients and mix until smooth. frost your cooled down cake and nom!
I heard this commercial on the radio twice this week. First time I heard it, I was like "is that Scott Avett?" Heard it again with my wife in the car, and we both agreed it had to be him. Just saw the Cheerwine facebook page, so there is no doubt. Very cool!
I love how just hearing Scott's voice kinda makes me happy, like I'm listening to their music. *shivers*
So is Cheerwine like a cherry coke?
no
Cherry Coke is good, but not near as good as Cheerwine. You're missing out if you've never had it
I found Cheerwine in San Francisco (it makes killer cupcakes with charming pink frosting). Here's how to find it near you:

We thought it sounded like Scott the first time we heard the commercial on the radio. Glad that we were right on!

@walstib.....My kids and I made the cupcakes for desert after the dinner we made for their mother on Mother's Day. They were great! I don't know if the Cheerwine had something to with it it, but they were the moistest cupcakes we have ever made. The only thing that I will do different next time is to do without the almond extract. My kids, wife, and several friends said they didn't like the almond flavor. I kinda liked it myself...it brought out the flavor of the Cheerwine. The frosting was really good! Thanks for sharing the recipe. Definitely worth trying folks. =)
Cheerwine is now for sale in the glass bottle at all Cracker Barrel restaurants. That should cover most of you outside of NC who want to try it, even if you have to wait till your next long roadtrip to venture into a Cracker Barrel.
Sorry guys....thats not Scott. Its me! The Great Fish!
@catfisher - how did you manage to acquire such a smooth southern accent, aren't you from WV?
I am from places unknown.
I wish I had seen this sooner! I heard it on the radio like a month ago and swore immediately it was Scott. Couldn't be anyone else. Go look at any single video with him speaking! Same accent, rise and fall, cadence, inflection... His personality is so apparent in the commercial, he's too distinct for it to be someone else. It even sounds like something he'd write. Everything about the commercial sounds like him, and I'm a girl who knows her Avett Brothers! : ]
Ouch....Cheerwine a cherry coke?? Please go try it!!! Your life will be changed.
well, I'd say that was Scott, but y'all should all know, that Sun Drop is made in Concord, NC, and its great!
That's scott FA SHA.
......Fail on my double post....
Heard a new one(to me atleast) today about a convenient store robbery where all they took was Cheerwine. I'm glad he chose the product he did, though i would of been happier with Sundrop. haha
BTW sundrop mixes much better with bourbon than cheerwine for those who care.
ahh yes george dickel and sundrop.
