Crossroads, Kansas City, MO show

What did you all think? I did not like the opener, Grace Potter but the Brothers really brought it. I didn't care for the crowd. There were a ton of either newbies or randoms that kinda ruined my experience. Plus I think the band feeds off the energy of the crowd. It is really cool in a small venue with diehards only that sing every word. I had this smelly dirty dreadlocked hippie that kept blowing smoke in my wife's face all night and I was about to lose it.

I love how the brothers change thier look so often. Seth looked like he should be a cop. Funny.

First show for me after being a fan for just over a year. Needless to say it was as amazing as I expected. I agree with you though that the crowd was very lacking. I actually felt sorry for the guys as they were totally putting in on the line in a great show, yet the crowd didn't seem to match their intensity. I was surprised also that I seemed to be the only one around me that knew the words to songs other than the ones from I+L+Y.

Great show, I wish they were around here more often, but I'm sure that's just like everyone else!

Oh, and I agree about Grace, the guy next to me put it the best, they had parts of songs that were awesome, but then they went the wrong way somehow.

It was my first show as well. I have been a fan for a few years but this was the first time I was able to catch them. Amazing energy and passion. Colorshow is one of my favorite songs so I was happy I got to hear it live. I was blown away. I have been to over 100 shows in my life and have seen just about everybody I would ever want to see and this show is probably in the top five or ten.

I agree the crowd left a lot to be desired. There were a few cool people around us but there were some a holes in front of us that did everything they could to ruin the experience. I did my best to tune them out.

Grace Potter and the Nocturnals were not very good at all. When they came on the stage I said to my buddy I bet we see her underwear. Sure enough halfway through the set she shows them off. If you have to resort to showing off your undergarments its going to be a long set. I don't think David Gilmour every showed off his boxers. They just were not my cup of tea I guess. Their cover of White Rabbit was ok.

If they start filming Super Troopers 2 Seth would be a good fit for the cast.

Avetts, come to Omaha again soon. I can't wait to catch you guys again.

I have been to several TAB concerts. In my opinion, this one was my favorite. I am sorry to hear about some poor experiences with the crowd. We did not have an issue. I thought the guys played their guts out. I loved the mix of music that they played. Hearing November Blue, In the Curve and Pretty Girl from Michigan were definitely highlights. I hope they come back within a few hours of Omaha again soon!

I had a blast - was great to see Cookhouse, Radiumbathhouse and their spouses! I know there were others from the boards present , but given the somewhat chilly and damp weather I didn't get out to explore a lot. Sorry we didn't cross paths rchasei. I will say that it seemed that there wasn't as much warm fuzzy Nation love, but most of the folks around us were nice people, excited to see the brothers and dialed in. I brought one of my lifelong friends to his first show and finally now he gets it!!

I agree with the feelings on Grace Potter ATN. Really felt like the wrong mix for the brothers, musically and culturally. She's got the looks and that's her hook , she does have pipes and her band was fairly tight but at the end of the day they aren't bringing anything new to the table. It will go over well with the eight track arena rock set but I thought they were ok and I just really wanted them to be done! .Really not looking forward to seeing them again in Nashville but sure makes you hungry for the brothers!

I thought the fellas gave us a nice mix for the set. Really excited about Scott playing harmonica on the new tune. Finally got to hear Tin Man and PG Michigan. And come on, November Blue, In the Curve, Down with the Shine, then crushing it with Colorshow and Indolence. For the latecomers there was just enough of I&Love&U mixed but thought this was a good set.

There was also a very, and I mean VERY excited GP & TN fan in the midst up front. So excited, so passionate, so dreadfully unaware of social etiquette... but I have to hand it to her, she was loud and she let her colors show... keeping the madness low however, eh not so much

4.5 weeks till Nashville - can't wait!

Safe travels y'all

Hey Little Man

I saw your Conor Oberst last night at the Casbah with the Felice Brothers behind him as his band!

Sometimes you just get lucky Smiling

Can't believe the crowd at this concert. When the Brothers asked if they could play another song, I yelled how about 3 more and some girl next to me said how about 0?!?!?!?!? How about you learn some taste in music and what makes a song beautiful?!

I'm sorry about that need to vent, but I was the only one in my area singing and it was miserable. Thank god the Brothers make everything better. Can't believe I missed PG from Cedar Lane again, but all in all a good show to introduce my girlfriend to the Avett.
