too easy...

What do you mean?

So if ever someone one says to you,
Life isn't fair, get used to it
Then you should say 'Well it might be
If folks like you would let it be"

I think he means the expected $25 answer was just too easy.

I'd pay $12.50 each Smiling

I'd trade ya a Klondike bar

I would give $12.50 and a klondike bar.

Would they laugh if they knew who paid?

SERIOUSLY>>> How much??

Are you asking because you have them?

--
No pretty girl ever slowed me down.

$14.11, but you'd have to throw in a Klondike bar.

"I've never been too good at reading in between the lines."

So you just bought them last month, and are wanting to sell them already?

On Ebay original copies of Live at the Double Door have sold for between $100 and $130. I feel like original hand made copies of The Avett Brothers Vol. 1 would bring about the same. I am not sure about the Swept Away EP but my guess would be between $30 and $40. I have never seen a copy of the In The Curve single sell on Ebay but I would think it would bring in $100 or more. It has to be the rarest Avett CD out there (other than a couple of pressed, syndicated radio shows and the Emotionalism promo that was only sent to a handful of music publishers)
I'm only going by what I have seen them sell for on Ebay.

That's what i thought sundayrehab. I may have an extra copy!

An extra copy of which one?

With Vol. 1 and Live at The Double Door it would be very tricky to be sure you are not getting a fake. With Vol. 1 there were even 2 different, yet original, covers. Counterfeits are hard to spot. I feel lucky that all of the copies I have were handed to me by Scott, Seth or Dolph. It makes their provenance beyond question.

Yeah, thats good. I got a burnt copy of Vol. 1 from Scott and the originals of LATDDI and Swept away ep directly from Scott.

I don't understand the point of your post, AT ALL. Was it to tell folks you got these rare discs directly from Scott? Was it to assess their value using input from others? I'm not judging (mostly b/c I don't care either way) but I am curious, b/c if either of those was the goal, you approached it in a really weird way.

i'm with heids on this one. don't get the point, at all.

--
"We took a pickup, a tent, and a shotgun," recalls Scott. "We went out thinking it was a wild frontier."

I agree with heids. Not sure what the true point of the posting was. Now im hungry for a klondike bar. I dont know what to think

tinndn, i'd love some ice-cream right about now! as for the original post, meh. I agree with Heids.

"Hell has no fury like a woman; happy, scorned, or otherwise"

Heids... I totally agree. I had a basically the same thing all typed out and then deleted it. A lot of the topics lately have been getting stranger and stranger. "What kind of ice cream do they like", "Do they read books". Odd... that's all I'm saying and don't really see the point- especially in this thread.

HEIDS-I'm just seeing how much someone would pay to get their hands on these like I did. Thanks for your amazing interest though!!!!Basically to get their value also.

I guess when it comes down to it. I would love to have a copy of the CD please let me know when you can burn it and send to me. Thanks again!

Are you trying to sell them? Or are you trying to assess the level of consumerism that reigns rampant among Avett fans? I really don't get it.

I'd like some Klondike but falafal also sounds good.....

--
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different, we love to talk on things we don't know about.

If Scott gave them to you then I guess you didn't really have to pay a lot to get your hands on them????? Still doesn't make sense to me.

just thinking out loud but if scott directly gave me something i don't think i would ever sell it

"But I can't go back, and I don't want to,
'cause all my mistakes, they brought me to you"

Pretty sure it would be under glass

Apologies for the confusing answer.
Often people will respond (stupidly) to a post first solely to earn 25 (worthless) points.

I thought it was too easy for someone to do, so I posted first.

And in turn I did the exact thing I was trying to rail against - not giving you any useful information. I thought you might have done it as a joke. My bad.

Glad Sunday stepped in to give real info.

Things change and get strange with the movement of time, it's happening right now to you.

Scott gave me the keys to his Bentley he drove around the world + the original manuscript for his book "Life In Prison, Vol I."
How much will y'all give me for that?

Team Avett #36

lildeadhead: that pen she uses to keep her setlists? it's a human-finger bone. dipped in the blood of the ones who yell out during "murder in the city". poetic, no?

Nevermind!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have seen some pretty stupid posts on here. Some peeps worship Scott and Seth. I'm just trying to throw something new out there. Someone else can go ahead and post some amazing interesting great news. I can't wait.. Have a great night!

Northbound - don't sweat these fools. They're just trying to make something out of nothing. Who cares what your purpose for the post was? You posted it and people responded - nuff said. I've stopped posting on here because of uptight "super fans". I love the Avett Brothers' music and I'm a huge fan. But some people think they are superior to others on the board - why they are like that is beyond me. Kudos on having those - definitely a collector's dream. Enjoy! Hope you make some duckets on their sale.

Thanks Bill...Out

falafel anyone?

Mohegan for the WIN!

Also, when you say stuff that makes no sense, that doesn't make the people who ask for clarification "superfans" with superiority complexes. Don't confuse your feelings of inferiority with my requests that you speak/type in a more coherent fashion. I have no desire to exclude anyone from the conversation, but if I don't understand what you're saying, I'm going to ask you to explain. That's sort of the point of a discussion board, is it not?

And that, as they say, is that.

this was entertaining...thank you.

i wish i had those cd's! you must have a love for collecting the ones that are hard to get (jtillman). Good for you! awesome that you were personally given them. love that. enjoy!!!

i would also love a klondike bar however the new vegan me can't have it so i think falafel wins.

I like that it is almost at two pages of posts for something that got way out of hand. Im glad to be a part of it.

Amazing how far something so little and confusing will go. Avett fans are one of a kind! Much love for all.

HA!!! I just picked up a second copy of Country Was at my local used CD shop for $8.... deal of the century!!!!!!

Dfrench81....Do you like Klondike bars by chance? I can be your deal of the century if so.

Northbound.... yeah i figured you'd get reamed a bit... to answer your question, if i posessed a copy of those - they would cost too much to me on a personal level to ever sell them, especially b/c you'd have the story of getting them straight from the man / men who made them... I can see wehre you're coming from though, with your post - to just get an idea of what they are worth... Its not like you could take them to your local collector and be able to get an accurate assessment for these types of CDs.... To answer your question monetarily, I'm sure there are many folks who would be happy to pay $100 - $200 for each - if they were, in fact, orginals. If were you, I'd try to get some type of certificate ( if that is at all possible)
--
Well Locust, Mount Pleasant, Concord.... LETS GOOO!

Drew, Exactly. I'm not looking to sale them, I was just curious! Scott gave them to me personally, but he did not have any original Country Was albums left, but I'm still looking. I would have paid a lot for them if someone actually was to sale them! I just wanted to know what someone WOULD pay! Sorry if I came off confusing Avett family! Take care

Very meta Johnny Mohegan.

Got it. Didn't understand what you were trying to say before. Maybe a bit of background to give context would have been helpful, but maybe you don't want people to understand what you're saying. Maybe I should have shut up rather than asking. Maybe I should stay off the boards until I'm in a better mood about stuff that has nothing to do w/ the Avetts. Maybe you should all have a really great day. Actually, that last one is a definite - hope you all do.

Yes, well played, sir.

Wish me luck, I know you think I'll need it.

I like the mean heids better.

Yup. She comes 'round these parts every month or so...
