Paste Magazine Folding

Looks like Paste is folding Sad: http://gawker.com/5627700/

So sad, I thought Paste was one of the best music/culture/film publications out there. And they love the Avetts.

Good magazine. Sad day.

Man, I love Paste. Sad day for sure.

This is really sad. They definitely had some good stuff. Rest in peace Paste....

I wonder if this affects the Paste Magazine tour that Langhorne is a part of?

That's a shame. They've always been one of my favorite magazines, and I believe a few people around here got in to the Avetts through their sampler discs. Sad to see them go.

Totally devastating news. Paste has introduced me to some wonderful artists I might not have found otherwise and has always supported the artists I know & love. I'll definitely miss seeing it in my mailbox every month.

I'm sure I would of made my way here one way or the other... but PASTE totally pointed me towards the Brothers. Glad its still online but will miss the happy surprises that have filled my mailbox over the past years.

Best music mag hands down.

soooo sad. "They announced it internally yesterday in an afternoon meeting, giving employees approx... 2 hours notice." Two hours?! That's rough

I have a buddy who is a signer/songwriter and one of his big breaks was a good review from Paste. They have introduced me to some very good bands.

Two hours? Geez man!

Sucks so bad. They had great samplers and content it that will be hard to get elsewhere.

They've been hyping the "2 hours" bit in all the articles, but as much as I hate to say it, the writing's been on the wall for them for a while now. They've been struggling for years. I'd imagine anyone working there probably had a good idea what was coming. Also, if they're keeping the website, then maybe a portion of the staff got to keep their jobs. Still, it's no good.

ahhh nuts! so daytrotter isn't joking!

Where will we all go to keep up on new music!? I can probably name a dozen bands that I would never have heard of if not for Paste, including TAB!

I guess NPR.org?

killster...that's probably somewhat correct. While I'm glad the NPR of today isn't the NPR I remember when I was growing up I still wish there was a "niche" magazine like Pasts still focusing on "our" music.

magnet is pretty good, & american songwriter has some nice stuff. i just don't spend enough time w/ magazines to justify them cluttering up my house. i hope this means they'll keep doing their live sessions. i'm still in love w/ that last everybodyfields taping.

i'm totally devastated. paste was my only non-bill mail. they're a huge reason of why i listen to what i listen to - stuck ben folds on the cover of a mag years ago and his fan club sent it to us all and have been reading it religiously (and learning/discovering oh so much) ever since.
