HFOD (for Ashley)

Notes: Crackerfarm was in attendance shooting. Dolph was there, too.
Also spotted (post-show) were Winston of M&S with David Mayfield, and Jim & Suzy Avett were talking to lots of fans pre-show, as well as during the main event itself.

Overall venue score, I would say they're about a B. (my opinion, of course...and i'd call a C average) The venue staff were friendly, will call & pre-show including EE were handled pretty well, but the lines got skewed when it was actual entry time, so the hierarchy of "we were here first" was disturbed. The crowd seemed to take this in stride though, fortunately, and I found security to be polite, if not a wee bit overzealous. Clean bathrooms & drink prices were reasonable ($2 bottled Cokes & $4 canned domestic beers)

Did they actually say "For Ashley" when they played HFOD???? Because if they did....that's amazing!!!!!!

They did not. But... Eye-wink

I think I just sent you a private message. I don't go on here often so I'm not sure if I did or not. Smiling

At least I know they got the story! I hope they did! I really wish I could have met them, but they didn't come out. However, that may have been my 1st Avett Brothers show, but it won't be my last!!!

Is PGF Michigan a new one? Didn't know that one. And was so excited to finally see 'Carpenter.' Fantastic. The whole night was a mountaintop experience. I wonder if I'll get to see them in such a small venue again!

PGF Michigan has been around for a few years now. Though the arrangement has changed over time. Other names for it have been "Can You Not See" and " Telling Time".

Wonderful show and small venue so it was more intimate than some of their larger shows. They played their hearts out! The energy was amazing and I had a great time. People are *really* protective about their places near the front of the stage however. I met a lot of great people (hi Katie from Birmingham) and I think Track 29 did a great job. We waited outside the bus after the show as well and when we were told that they were'nt comign out we were like "We understand...after that show they must be exhausted!" I still have a smile on my face. I'm with CoffeeBomb: Just a Closer Walk With Thee was a highlight of the evening for me.

Ashley- I'm so glad you had fun; your story is amazing and you sound like an inspiring young lady!

"Welcome to the Seth (bringing the thunder!) show! Ho-lyyy whoa!"!!!!!!

Holy Moly, they were rocking it last night!

Will You Return, the PGs, Weight of Lies, the whole special mike set (as people've said, especially Just a Closer Walk,) Go To Sleep, Colorshow (doesn't get old,) and Carpenter were highlights for me.

Thought this show was wonderful and special. The band was well-rested and you could tell excited to be back on the stage (Seth talked about always being a little nervous that they'll mess up after a break. We were like, psh, Seth.) It could have been since it's been a while since I've seen them, but everything sounded pretty fresh to me and reminiscent of some of the first times I saw them.

Bob was wearing an I <3 St. Judes shirt and both he and Joe got a lot of deserved love. Jim was walking around, talking with fans, and as usual was a treasure to chat with.

Haha, Crackerfarm was doing something with a paper doll in the foreground while taking pictures of Seth- or something? It was funny though and I look forward to seeing the fruits of whatever he was up to!

Didn't think I was going to be at this one, got shut out of both pre-sale and public sale for the first time and got lucky when a friend from other concerts had an extra on her hands. Was floating on thankfulness the whole time, which made the show that much sweeter. Heck of a show!

Hope everyone at the NYE show has a huge blast!

seeing bob play really made the show for me. you could tell it was a special experience for him to be back with his band.
also seemed like seth learned some new dance moves this winter, he was rocking out! great show

What is the Ashley reference about?

The venue was great! I was giddy when I walked in and saw how small the place was. Some people we met and stood next to talked to a cousin of one of the owners of Track29 (I know, real reliable source). Anyway he said they were playing small venues like this to offset the cost of hallie crawford's treatments. Who knows but it'd sure be nice if it's true (and if it means more small venues!).

My first show since Spring seeing Bob back and in my hometown...overall, it was AWESOME!

Great show, as a North Carolina alumni from Lee University I was thrilled to see the Brothers in Chattanooga! Hearing At The Beach was probably the highlight of the year Smiling This was my fiance' and I's New Years celebration and the set list made it a night to remember. Although I'm not to sure about the staff of Track 29, I was almost thrown out before even getting into the venue, all I can figure is it was based on my appearance I wasn't even drinking. Oh well The show was fantastic, so awesome to hear Bob those times he's able to play with them and Track 29 was definitely one of those special nights! Would love to find a youtube video of Pretty Girl from Michigan from this night! Happy New Year Avett Community!

Did anyone get any video?

Here is the opening song, "Will You Return". I've seen others from the show on youtube. Go find "Just a Closer Walk with Thee". It was amazing.
