as a musican/songwriter and fellow avett fanatic i find it hard(if not immposible) to write lyrics that are as meaningful as theirs, no matter what i do it seem like my lyrics are never up to par. any suggestions?

Why are you comparing yourself to them? It should be your own words and message and feelings, not something trying to shadow and achieve what something else has accomplished. If you are saying your own words and thoughts hold less meaning to yourself than someone else's words, then you just need more confidence. You don't have to be TAB or write like TAB to get a meaningful message across.
