Is there anyone out there who could burn me a copy of the Live at the Double Door Inn CD? I have been trying to get a hold of that masterpiece for sometime now. I know someone on here has got to have a copy of that lying around..?? It would be sooo much appreciated. Just let me know!

All I can say is that I wish I was amongst that crowd back in 2002. I would have been 14-15 haha. Love their interactions with the crowd though. "Dollar a song! You do the math!"

love this old stuff,i would like to hear a little more at the shows now!

Excellent rendition of November Blue. Definitely worth more than a dollar.

AMAZING ALBUM! It makes me grin from ear to ear and it reminds me why I love the Avett Brothers (not that I would ever forget!). I am more than happy to burn a copy for whoever is interested. I wouldn't charge anything, which is my way of making peace with music karma. If I charged I would feel guilty for taking away business from the Avett Brothers.

i agree with gansbahlol about the bluegrass sound. i also really enjoy cripple creek. i would like to hear the avett brothers do more covers of other songs, which they would ultimately make better

Love the album. What it lacks in quality is far surpassed with soul. I can't bring myself to give any Avett art less than 100%. I have a digi copy, however if anyone has a hard copy we would gladly make a roadtrip, buy you dinner, and take you to a show just to get a proper rip. Same goes for "Avett Bros."!!!

Until the next show,

after my husband scored this one for me, it took awhile to really like it. Don't get me wrong- I love bluegrass but I think I was more inclined to the TAB Americana-esque leanings, having fallen head over heels for Mignonette and Emotionalism. This one is raw and sophomoric, but so good. This really gives you a glimpse into their history and can give a different perspective on TAB in general. Especially funny are the little quips from the boys and the drunken audience.

I love the old bluegrass sound. I wish I could have seen this band live at such an early stage in their careers.

Got a scrag copy of this on ebay a ways back and it's fantastic. Would love to see this available for download....... my Diamond Joe track is all folked up and I really dig this tune.

Funny live album. There must have been some serious clowns in the crowd.

Life isn't fair, get used to it
Then you should say 'Well it might be

If you could only just re-release both this and the Avett Bros. EP, all of our collective itches would be scratched, our addictions satisfied, our pouting quelled. I mean, you could always release Live at the Double Door Inn alongside a new Live album showcasing everything since Live, Vol. 2. God knows I just want more Avett Brothers, and perhaps that comes in the form of four releases for 2010: Avett Bros. EP re-release, Live at the Double Door Inn re-release, Live Vol. 3 (or something in that ballpark), and the Third Gleam (or again something in that ballpark). Of course, whatever and however many efforts you wish to address, I will love you all the same and buy whatever you pick and choose to scratch our itch.

one of my favorites

But their good times come with prices
And I can't believe it when I hear the jokes they make
At anyone's expese except their own
Would they laugh if they knew who paid?

Pulled this cd out last night and listened to it. My daughter bought it back in '05.
It is fun to hear them live and hear how much Scott and Seth's voices have grown
and matured. And my two favorite old gospel songs included! Love it.

oh please, oh please, oh PRETTY please.... re-release this album! and the darlings!!! and not just on iTunes... i gotta have the actual album.

I can't find this or the other earliest album anywhere. Or Nemo. I want all of those things.

Worth a listen for the die hard fan, and I'm glad I heard it, but not my cup of tea. Too rough for my ears, even by the Avett standard.

I love the interaction with the band and the crowd, very humbled

I LOVE the covers they do on this one. Interaction with the drunken crowd is priceless. Especially before Beside The Yellow Line, when the girl tells them they "have" to play Rocky Top and Scott says they "Ain't GOTTA do nothin'."

I love it.

It is really sad when the crowd yells at them to play "Rocky Top"....Good album, just makes me ashamed to live in TN if I think about it too hard.

to be re-released, it totally needs to be remastered. the volume is so low i have to turn my cd player almost all the way up. but it was a great show to be at and i'm glad they made a recording of it. it's a great album with great banter and great songs.

how do I get it

I love hearing the progression of bands' maturity...

this is a lot of fun to hear just how far they've come... I mean they didn't suck here by any means... it's just fun to listen to where they've come from...

Three stars for the songs I know and I'm saving two for the rest. Why do I feel ashamed?
