My Reviews & Blog

  • I work with college students planning concerts. I've been dreaming about getting The Avett Brothers to campus for over a year now. In August, I suggested they look into booking TAB for April; they laughed - I'm old and unhip (26, I know right?). Kept nudging through October and the album's release, more laughter. Last week, one of my students says, "Man, I keep hearing about The Avett Brothers EVERYWHERE! You might have been right after all."

  • I'm new to the board, but I'm also still feeling fresh after the show at The National last night in Richmond. I'm tired of reading posts about how "betrayed" people feel. It was obvious, extremely obvious, to me last night that The Avett Brothers are one of a handful of bands I've come across that remain completely dedicated to their fans. Frankly, I've never seen a group connect with an audience as quickly and maintain that bond for 2+ hours. Not to mention taking the time to shake hands after the show.
