I was studying abroad in the U.K. the first time I heard The Avett Brothers. One of my flatmates was from North Carolina and the other went to school in VA, and both were in a rather involved discussion of the band. I was a bit out of the loop, so they played me "Swept Away." It got in my head and made it to the playlists I would play when walking to work at 7 AM on windy and cold Scottish mornings. I was halfway converted but got a bit distracted in the next few months. It wasn't until I moved back to Northern California and was sitting in a cafe and heard "In the Curve" and "Tales of Coming News" that they firmly lodged themselves in my head and refused to budge. I was hooked. When I was abroad, they made me feel less homesick and now that I was home they reminded me of my time traveling.

I kissed my lady's hand and sent
My two weeks notice with my rent
And she grew cold and softly said
I am not your lover,
I am the map you use to find her.

Amazing.
I second all those who said they would pay for one of these, it's gorgeous!
