For sonic purposes, buy the CD. A MP3 is a very bad quality to listen to. The only reason its so popular is because the files are so small.

I don't know personally what the Avett's used on The Gleam but I know it was recorded at Electromagnetic Radiation Recorders, and here is a list of their equipment. http://www.emrrecorders.com/emrr-...
