I have been hoping for a Koka booth return since the second the Nov Blue encore in '08. Not only is the venue 5 mins from my house, but it is one of the prettiest venues I have been too... largely in part to the beautiful trees & enchanted walkway through the peaceful, wooded path that leads into the venue. The Avetts, beneath the stars, on a warm, summer, Carolina night... life doesn't get much better than that.

Love comes in all sizes....
My husband & I are beyond excited to have our 7 year old daughter join us for her first live Avett experience at Merlefest... even though that means that we'll be enjoying the show further away from the stage than we would ordinarily be. ;0) As a very protective & cautious mama, I have never felt comfortable enough with venues in the past to allow her to join us for a show. She is as loyal a fan as I am... and that is saying a lot. She sings along passionately to each & every song... and that includes all of Seth's Darling CDs, of course.
