What a night. Thank you thank you thank you Seth, Scott, Bob, and Joe for an incredible show. It will always be a night to remember and I'll never forget it. I bought the 2 tickets back in May while abroad in Europe as a Father's Day gift for my dad and it just so happened that I returned to the US on August 7th, the day before the show. I was a little jet-lagged and road weary but the atmosphere of that place lifted me right back on my feet where I stayed for the whole show.
In an era of music that favors singles, one hit wonders, and singing about material possessions over a heavily produced beat, The Avett Brothers are a welcoming exception. Every song is saturated with the color and emotion of real honest life. I have no problem putting them in alongside Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Neil Young, The Band, Ryan Adams and all of the best song writers of any generation. The Avetts seem to have a tune appropriate to any feeling, and that's why I can't stop listening to em.
At 20, I feel like I'm barely old enough to know what I mean, but I know that I wanna live with the honesty and intention that these guys sing about.

"How do I know that you will never stop, knowing me and trusting me and loving me a lot?"
I always liked Scott with the beard and hair stomping his foot and such, but lately I've been listening to Darling a ton and I have to say I am falling hard for Seth, as far as man-for-man-crushes go...
I'll be talking about that night for years to come...
