The show was so awesome. Combined with the amazing sound and outdoor venue it was a great experience. It was good to see everybody again! See you next time.

That was the most incredible show ever. All 7 of my brothers and sisters went and were front and center and absolutely jammed the entire time. I wish I could pick a favorite song, but they were all awesome. In The Curve...phenomenal. Colorshow....incredible. It just kept getting better and better. We are seriously thinking about flying to NC for the New Year's show.
I drove up from Columbus to check out this show. I took my sister with me for her first TAB concert. It was a really good show. They played some good tunes. Their new song The Perfect Space was incredible. Great lyrics. Still riding off my high from that show.

They played flavours from almost every album! It's been awhile since I've seen the Avetts, and moments like Scott resting his head on his guitar and talking crazily while seth was singing during when I drink.. and when the entire band joined in for salvation song.. completely rekindle my admiration. The new songs are fantastic, and I'll be listening to the Avetts non-stop for the next month. Hope everyone was up in the heavens, especially the people who just wouldn't stop shouting for murdered in the city.. come on.. is the band a jukebox? Either way, hopefully it made their night.
Now.. off.. to.. Rotthbbuury!

Super fun show. Great seeing Chris and Yogini there and even got to talk a bit with Joe and Scott after. Great energy and it was free!
This is what i was thinking about the previous two shows - the Bros seemed to slow down, Sam & the Shivs brought it in both Grand Rapids and Chicago - that Confiscation EP is phenomenal - (side note : one of the openers in Portland was Sallie Ford & the Sound Outside - get their EP if you can find, you won't be disappointed - Scott told me last night he was having her open up a few shows for them later this summer or early fall out east) - anyway, i felt the same after the Grand Rapids show too ........so TWO shows in a row (for me, the did 7 shows in between those dates) that the opener seemed to have more energy than the Bros???? at least the Bros we know and love are used to.........then last night in Detroit happened. It was as if a hurricane had hit.......you could tell 30 seconds into the show that Scott was on fire and the band followed suit.....the whole night was electric. I think what happened in GR was some appeared a little under the weather, and the weather itself was 90 +. Come Chicago they had just done 8 show in 11 days or something to that affect. I would have a little less too.......four days off was apparently all each band member needed. Again, it was Scott who led the charge and didn't let up - it was, to say the least, incredible - playing each song with fervor - adding here and there stuff i hadn't heard before in the songs - AND Joe and Scott must have stuck around for at least an hour after the show, making sure they made contact with every last person that wanted to meet them - a fitting way to end this run of six shows spread out over these last 3 months, likely not seeing the guys til next year. So good to see my girls Marley & Betz, Ric & Christy, Aaron & Sonja, Rhonda & Les, Dan & Suzanne, Jen & Brian & lil Gracie (3yrs old, her first show), meeting Sarah & Amelia. Jhutch & I played guitar and sang Avett songs the whole ride home (someone wants us to play their engagement party and eventual wedding - all Avett covers!!) all in all a Great crowd, the weather held out for us - was nice and cool, and of course - the best band on the planet, spot on their "A" game. A perfect summers evening.
Shot some great vids (humble opine)too, although the sound was a bit off in some :

Ginny, thanks. The only good thing about Michigan as far as we are concerned is when The Avett Brothers are there. And we'll enjoy any mention of Ohio by the brothers.
I've been thinking about the show last night all day. Chrisvant...you are right on in your assessment. A show filled with some great energy. I'm about to sing some Avett covers for my dad's bday party! And it spread...

I'm torn. I'm from Ohio and live in Michigan. They both have their advantages and disadvantages.
haha. I'm just kidding Chrisvant. Avett fans are Avett fans no matter where their from.
