As you may know, we are avid home shoppers. There's no better way to wind down after a show than to spend some time shopping on TV for gifts to send home to our families. We guess that technically makes us "road shoppers."
So we're proud to announce a new strategic relationship with The American Budget Network. As many of you might remember, the Network was a pioneer of home shopping in the 80's and 90s. It went out of business in 1992, but now it's been resurrected as a YouTube Channel.

You know, I actually had one of those magic massage hammocks back in 83! Traded it in for a Ginsu set and Magic Fisherman combo pack. Bet you didn't know that TAB ran trade-in promo's on all the product they sell. In fact if I'm not mistaken, a Japanese firm that also owned Ronco bought the remaining inventory at a yard sale in Lebanon CT. around 89. At least that's what i read in the inside page of the Bargain Hunters Guide. Glad to see he's back.

Bait and Switch
As a fan who worked very hard to get what i knew would be limited tickets to an incredible venue, I feel like I have just been swindled. Thomas Wolfe is an intimate theater with great sound and atmosphere. The Civic Center is certainly not. I had planned a 7-8 hour trip and on paying for a downtown hotel room in order to see what was advertised as a smaller, more intimate show at a great venue and now have tickets to a concert at a place where I generally do not go to see a band. Yes, the band is the same, the show will be played with the same great showmanship and zeal that the Avett Brothers always bring, but it is not the same at that venue. There is more to the idea of a NYE show than just hearing the songs and seeing the band. It is the total experience and context of the show that made this such an exciting event. The songs will be great. The venue, sound, and atmosphere will be much different than what the fans who put in a lot of effort to get the limited seating tickets were promised. I don't think it will surprise anyone that people are disappointed. It doesn't mean I don't like the band anymore, but it does sting to be sold one thing and get another.

I just want to say that eveyone who is complaing about the venue change obviously doesn't truly understand what TAB is all about. Their reasoning for building their fan base as large as they have is so they can reach out to more people and allow them to hear good music, that tells about love and relationships, life trials, and making it through tough times. So much of the music these days is pointless to hear, and just talentless people using voice machines. These guys truly adore their fans. They have grown and come a very long way to be able to reach out to this huge fan base.
The fact that they changed venues not only proves how much they care about the fans, but YES, allows them to make some extra cash. Otherwise, how will they continue their quest to touch people's lives and give everyone some insight on what can truly make you a happier person. The new venue allows for all of their fans to be in one place, TOGETHER, celebrating NYE.
Maybe they didn't realize they would sale out to over 2000 people so quickly?.. So to try and accomodate all the fans who were upset about not getting tickets, they change to a larger venue, AND..AND... still try to keep all the fans, who did get the tickets, happy by allowing them an advance entry to the show.
Nonetheless, TAB is an amazing group that will live on to change many peoples lives, and I can't wait to continue to see them do it.
