General Pre-sale On Sale Now!
Thanks to everyone who bought tickets early through the mailing list presale. It went off without a hitch , so we’ll be sure to do it again. Make sure to sign up for the email list here if you haven’t already so you’ll be first in line for the next round of shows!

All tickets that did not sell during the email-list presale are now available here. Remember, this is only 10% of the total tickets, and they’re the best in the house. AND some of these shows won’t go on sale to the general public for a few days still, so make sure to get them now at the lowest ticketing price possible!

Thanks, also, to everyone for their patience during all of these presales. This is all pretty new to us, so we are still working out the kinks. All we want is to offer our most loyal supporters the best possible experience, so please bear with us while we figure out the best way to do it!

Your friends,
The Avett Brothers

Is anybody else having a hard time getting spinner.com to open?

Wow...what a great song. Can't wait to hear the entire album. I'm sure it will be just as fabulous as the others. Smiling

Thank you Avett brothers!!!!!! I'll be listening to this on repeat until 9/29. I live in Williamsburg Brooklyn - had no idea this was inspired from the Galapagos?!? That is like, blocks away from me! This must have been before I became a die hard fan one year ago. Thanks again! LOVE this song. Can't wait to see you again!

thanks for the single. i've been waiting for this awhile now

"a woman's heart runs on gasoline"

Excited for the rest of the album!

I've been checking the news page relentlessly since midnight (it said Wednesday AM) waiting for the surprise.....
I figured and was hoping it was a single. And what a single....it's awesome!

Thank You
(p.s. How long untill fans will start saying "I and Love and This and Song!!!"?)

So glad we are getting little sneak peeks with this single and the NPR desk concert....can't wait for the album!

thanks guys!

Thanks for sharing the single for free. You guys are an inspiration.
That said, I hope the rest of the album isn't quite so Rick Rubinized.

Loving this single. SO MUCH.

The vocal and instrumental harmonies weaving in and out, behind and around, above and below....

It's [always] a good day to be an Avett Brothers fan.

Thanks guys!

beauty unspeakable. many thanks.

Love the song, strongly dislike the mix. Maybe it's the mix on my player, but Scott's vocal seems to overpower the instrumentals. Also, I really wish he'd have kept the cadence that he uses when doing it live. The pauses between words and phrases are what make the song to me. They enhance the desperation of the song. That seems to be lost in the smoother, less syncopated vocal on this recording.

A little sad, but I'll take it and smile.

I think you caught me mid fist pump! This must be from night 2 at the Crystal Ballroom right? Man that show was legendary!

THANK YOU!!!! What a great gift!! Can't wait to see you guys in a few days in Minneapolis!

it's beautiful.
i saw you play it live opening for dave matthews, and my word.
it's wonderful.

thank you.

Caught you in Columbus.
Can't get enough. Thanks for the gift and
thank you so much for your dedication to being real.
Is it September yet?

I've been watching the videos people put on Youtube of this song from SXSW and I don't know what is better, the live version or the album version.

It's as beautiful as I knew it would be. You guys just blow my mind. Thanks for the gift of this song and every song you write.

The Tiny Desk concert was also just indescribably great! Down With The Shine is a wonderful and moving song.

Things change and get strange with the movement of time.
It's happening right now to you.

WhooHoo! I felt that my whole summer was ruined when the announcement came that the album release was pushed to September. But this makes it a little better Eye-wink

yay, something to hold me over until the new album.
when i heard this live a few weeks ago I was mesmerized

Much cleaner production values than usual. Though I'm not sure if I'm totally sold on the synth-organ (or whatever that is) in the background. Listening to this song and then something like "If It's the Beaches" is kinda a staggering difference. While the essense of songwriting is still there, I fear that the simple, down-home charm of the past music will be lost in a lot of overproduction. I hope this isn't the Avetts' "Let It Be".

Here's a conspiracy theory. Is the surprising month-and-a-half delay in the release date a hint of the band's unhappiness with Rick Rubin's productions, and they intend to scale a lot of it back before releasing the songs? I guess we'll see how much this single sounds like the final version on the album.

I've heard this track live, yet it still made my spine tingle when I heard the studio version. I can't wait for the record release!

wow

what ever happened to "new york leave me be" ?

the single is beyond amazing and i cannot wait until the full album is released!!!! the raleigh show was great and hopefully i'll be seeing the charlotte show. i appreciate so much yall keeping your feet on the ground and being true to yourselves even though you've gone so far. thanks so much for the free single! loving it!
