Boulder Show

I fell in love with the Avett's music after seeing them in Ashville 6 years ago. I listened and enjoyed their music before, but it wasn't until I saw them in concert that they completely won me over. It was their energy during the show and rawness that grabbed me and continues to keep me posted on the edge of my seat to see what they will do next. They are the only band where their lyrics can brighten my day and break my heart at the same time. All of them at truly talented and have a deep passion for their work, which is hard to say about artists these days.

I haven't seen the Avett's since their I and Love and You came out, and like most fans that have been following them for a while, I've been wondering if their new fame and new manager will change their music and performances. With much excitement, I thought last night's show was amazing. They did a great job at playing their old stuff (thanks for playing Colorshow!), mixed with a few of their newer songs, and they even snuck in the playlist some NEW SONGS! You can tell they are trying to keep their roots in place by introducing their new fans to their wide aware of music. However, will I say they have changed...they sound more polished and professional. As much as I think those changes are what every artist strives for, I would like to see them break out of their polished shells a little and mix in the rawness that many of us love them for. Seth and Bobby usually walk off the stage dripping in sweat, but last night they looked cool and calm. I hope at tonight's show I will see Seth yell, stomp, and sweat like he does so well.

Congrats Brother's on all your successes and keeping true to yourselves. Can't wait to see what you will pull out at tonight’s show (maybe a little November Blue action!).
