The show last night was awesome!!! Here's a few reasons why...
1 - This may seem like a lame point to address, but the weather was so nice for those of us who waited literally all day
2 - I went to drop off a blanket in the car and was stopped by Jim Avett. After thanking me for buying tickets and being a part of the team I mentioned we talked in Chattanooga and said he probably didn't remember me. He replied by saying he wouldn't forget my eyes, then gave me a hug...this just doesn't happen with any other band.
3 - The set was INCREDIBLE...I have not heard Salvation Song live since my first Avett show in 07, and it was the perfect ending to a perfect night.
Lastly...
The four of us were tired so decided not to hang out around the venue after the show. We left got gas, and started driving around Charlotte, then decided it was time to head back to the hotel. Aemish accidently chose the coordinates to the venue instead of the hotel...so unbeknownst to us, we were heading in the wrong direction. After we figured out what we were doing, we decided to just go with it, because we didn't have anywhere else to be. Immediately we see Seth with about five fans on the sidewalk near the road, and pull back in the parking lot to see if we could get a quick picture. After we walk around he was gone, and the security guard told us "The last ones leaving here in this van" . It was Scott and his wife leaving, I was not going to hold them up any longer so we just waved not expecting anything but a wave in return. He then rolled down his window and motioned us over, and started searching his van for a pen. We told him not to worry about it, a picture would do. So he took it, thanked us for coming, and we said thanks and "The show was great tonight" more than once...
The brothers always put on a one-of-a-kind show, and I will be forever grateful for everything they do for us fans.
