Not only was this my first Avett experience, it was the first time I heard I and Love and You... Spectacular. They also played Talk of Indolence, which is my favorite song. I've seen them once since then and plan on attending the show in Milwaukee on March 6th. Thank you guys so much.

After driving six hours to Minnesota, and six hours back to my little corner of hell in Wisconsin, we delayed buying tickets for the House of Blues show since ticketmaster.com is obviously an affiliate of the desolate one. Two tickets cost over twenty bucks more online so we decided to get them at the show for regular price. So after stopping home to eat, I hit the road again for two hours after stopping at a ticketmaster location that closed at six'o'clock, you couldn't even buy tickets over the phone at five'o'clock from the venue. But that's okay, we're driving, we're driving, get to Chicago, get to a small parking lot and pay $15 for parking, go to the House of Blues, get in, they check our stupid id's, get our stupid wrist band, and then-this is the best-the lady standing before says, "Tickets!".
"Can't we just buy them here?"
"Oh, I'm pretty sure they're all sold out, you can check the will call window if you want."
Yeah, and since I love being let down so much, I go check at the will call window. A woman opens up the window as I stare at the pieces of paper taped up reading: AVETT BROTHERS SOLD OUT. I'll ask anyway.
"Is there any way I can get into this show?"
"I'm sorry, were sold out to maximum capacity."
I love how people get off on telling you bad news, because this women had the biggest smile on her face. So, I begin to start on fire as I walk back to the parking lot, where we've been parked for twenty minutes, my little friend that took the money is sitting on the curb, so I say,"let me guess, no refunds right?"
He responds, once again with a beautiful smile, "yeah, no refunds."
I'm still a touch bitter, and now today I see a video posted on youtube.com of the guys playing "Down With a Shine", which was absent from the previous shows set list, so I'm going to finish being on fire, wait until they come to Madison and or Milwaukee, wait another three months for the album that would have closed my summer wonderfully and let it start my fall, which, obviously, has already begun.

Another fan posted this on the board and I thought it ought to get mentioned here, too. www.avettchicago.com
I can't come, but I've got a few friends headed to this one. Enjoy!

My advice is simple: experience these artists.

Thanks to a wonderful sister in law, I get to FINALLY see the Avetts live, and have a place to stay in Chicago! I can't wait!!!!
