Awesome, thanks for posting. Just Like A Woman interlude...definitely gotta hear that!

This show was definitely in my top 5!

For those that don't know...Pretty girl from Michigan is the same as "Telling Time" ...and the first song was there version of "Talkin Blues"...

But again, one of my favorite shows...almost 2 hours too!!!

oh my such a carryings on I never did see.

This was an amazing show.

Was that a little Dylan interlude? Wow.

I had feared I might not see the Bros. again any time in the foreseeable future, having been out of the loop, since Lisner in D.C. 2009. My sister won tickets to Pier Six. It was outstanding and really gave me a much fuller appreciation of the I & Love & You songs to hear them performed live. 'Jennie And A Summer Day' and 'Tin Man' were 2 highlights for me.

At The Beach!

"Was that a little Dylan interlude?"

It was! Does anyone know if TAB have covered Dylan before?

Someone please say you have video of Just Like a Woman!!!111!

Bobz, we def. thought of you after the show last night. security was pretty tight on video, flash, etc. so those around me couldn't get video, but I sure hope someone did, too.
on the other hand, security did a fantastic job of keeping people from rushing to the front, crowding aisles, etc.
great show last night, thought it was one of the best Tin Mans I've seen, great And it Spread, and I hadn't seen At the Beach in quite awhile.
other highlights:
Talkin' Blues--what a surprise, think it may have confused the audience some, esp. as an opener. Smiling
Backwards with Time--it had been awhile since I'd seen that.
PGfA with that interlude was beautiful, and of course there is the B'more shout-out.

Loved this show! The venue was smaller than I expected, and it was a beautiful night for a show on the water. They had a lot of energy, and the crowd was really receptive and excited. I agree that security was awesome about keeping people from trying to sneak up front and block everyone's view in the front, especially the obnoxious drunk folks. I was impressed with their ability to be both polite and firm, something that seems rare at concert venues these days. The guy on my side was a bit more lax with the taping, so I got Talkin' Blues, Die Die Die, Jenny and the Summer Day, Down With the Shine, Backwards With Time, almost all of In the Curve (the security guy threatened to take the camera Sticking out tongue), and all of Annapolis (I pulled my camera back out for the encore, and he seemed to be ok with it). I'll upload them once I'm back in CA.

Was so happy to get Jenny and the Summer Day, and love that they've been playing it more regularly. Also loved Backwards With Time and Annapolis and Michigan, although I do miss the faster/old version without keys. I was one of those confused by Talkin' Blues, chilixx - I hadn't heard it in awhile, and was trying to remember what it was called when they opened with it. What an awesome surprise Smiling Loved meeting you and other folks from the boards, great to put real faces to fake names Smiling

Outstanding show and set list....They played a little of everything and many of my all-time favorites. I took a few videos, one of HFD, Telling TIme, and Talkin' Blues..will post once I figure out how. Bummed I didn't get to see Seth or Scott after the show for a picture but totally understandable. Joe Kwon seems like a real stand up guy....incredibly sweet!

Lovelikethemovies I cannot wait to see your videos! Esp the Dylan interlude. I about lost my mind when they started that. I think I completed the process (of losing my mind) when I met Joe and Bob for the first time.

Last night was easily one of the best shows I've been to. Huge energy from the boys and the crowd. Lots of first time live for me songs, and some new feelings about songs that weren't at the top of my list before last night.

So nice to meet so many board folks and look forward to seeing you all at many, many more shows.

Tin Man = high energy. It was more flat out rock 'n' roll than I have seen of the Bros. previously.

SECURITY ruled. As soon as Grace Potter ended, some snotty teens came forward to stand right in front of the stage. I thought, oh, no, here we go. People have paid for, bartered or won good seats up front, and others will just rush the stage and make it unpleasant. It was not a General Admission show!

Security cleared them out and continued to do so throughout the night. I was on the aisle and a woman had snuck forward from somewhere and was standing next to me, drunk or high, kind of in a haze. After asking her fairly nicely repeatedly to move back , the security guy kind of got up in her face and yelled 'move!' I think she finally woke up.

I really appreciated the opportunity to enjoy the show without drunks sloshing beer down my back and crowding into my personal space.

I'm still 'high' from such a wonderful night. One of the Top 3 concerts of 2010 for me, and probably in the Top 3 of all Avett shows I have seen.

This was the best day ever.

My friend and I got to the city really early, since we decided to make a day of it. As soon as we got there we were just walking around, checking out the venue, when out of nowhere we saw Scott. He came right over to us and was super nice and posed for pictures. I mean I knew they were nice, but actually meeting them, it's almost unreal. On top of that we got to meet Joe and Bob after the show. They were cracking me up.

As for the setlist, I was more than pleased. Highlights for me: Jenny and the Summer Day, In the Curve, PGF Michigan, Murder in the City, PGF Annapolis. And Talk on Indolence is always a win. Security interupted my friend's video of Annapolis just as they started Just Like a Woman.

Oh, we also saw most of Soundcheck from across on the next pier. They played bits of SSS, Ill with Want, and Backwards with Time. They were playing a cover when we first stumbled upon it, but I didn't catch what it was.

Over all - GREAT DAY. Smiling

I have videos!

Soundcheck:
Backwards With Time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_MhSHwONNs
*Wind and trying to get a shot of Seth was difficult.

Show:
Jenny and the Summer Day: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_VcqRANmIE
*A little shaky.. sorry.

PGF Annapolis: http://www.youtube.com/user/karissa0989?feature=mhum#p/u/1/qbbr-6WO2k4
*This video was going so well until the damn security stopped me and made me show him my ticket. So mad.

Slight Figure of Speech: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yvC_qLw6Ug
* Short because my camera died.

Oh man, would have loved to get SSS and Ill With Want last night. Loved the setlist, but wonder if they played those in Charlottesville tonight Smiling

Thanks for the videos, karissa!

backwards with time!!! sigh

This was a great show at an awesome venue. I've seen them a lot but this show quickly became one of the best for me when they did In the Curve. I've been waiting for years to see that live and finally getting to hear it was amazing! Down With the Shine was another first for me. I saw them in Raleigh the weekend before so it was great that the set list was different and I actually heard songs I had never heard before. As always, wonderful show! It just never gets old!!

I think I heard Seth covering Catch The Wind (Donovan) at soundcheck. Funny - he did play that 2 years ago at Pier Six when they opened for the DBTs.

Ok, videos are up! They aren't the usual quality I try for (as much as my crappy camera allows me to, anyway) - some tall people I was trying to shoot around/above and security issues near me with people trying to sneak up front, but hopefully they give you a peek of what the show was like. I've never been this far Joe side for a show before, and I loved having such a great view of him. He's always rockin', but I thought he was extra awesome on Saturday.

Enjoy Smiling

Thanks so much for the video of PGfAnnapolis and the Dylan interlude. Absolutely wonderful stuff!!!

Together with the new Crackerfarm video about last Wednesday in NYC, this performance underscores why we fans love this band so much. The respect for those who came before, the dedication to the journey, the taking nothing for granted, the whole package.

I was listening to Gleam II on the car radio Sunday for the first time in months, prompted by comments in a blog post that was linked in the forum last week. G2 shares a homemade CD with the FestivalLink CD, so first you get the energy of the live performance, warming you up for the remarkable lyrics and singing of Murder in the City, Bella Donna, and Salvation Song.

Even though we know the venues will keep getting larger and the tickets harder to get, it's impossible to begrudge TAB the success they are enjoying because it is so richly deserved. Come back to upstate NY soon, y'all.

@BillNRoc "Even though we know the venues will keep getting larger and the tickets harder to get, it's impossible to begrudge TAB the success they are enjoying because it is so richly deserved."

Absolutely agreed! I was just having this conversation with another long time fan..Though we miss seeing them in smaller venues. we had to admit that we never had a doubt that this would or should happen(with or without the major label). ...And the world is a better place with The Avett Brothers' music!

Talkin Blues!?!?! Ohhhh, how lucky, congrats!

I took a few (very few) pictures at the show. I was on the lawn, so they're pretty far away. They're here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jasminefoxedme/sets/72157625107604549/ if anyone wants to check them out.

I'm a dork:

I made a graph of how many times I've heard each song in concert. Smiling (I've been to 8.) Thought some of you might be amused by this!

You're not a dork! I keep track of the songs I've heard and how many times I've heard them, too. I just don't have a graph. Eye-wink

I couldn't manage to visit concert in Baltimore but my friends said that this was one of the greatest experiences in concert that they ever had.
