This show was on fire.. Alot of the I and love and you songs were the best live versions I had ever seen. And, thankfully the rain went away.

Thanks for posting, it looks like it was a great show. I'd love to see "In The Curve," and I can't get enough of "Down with the shine." Judging from the play lists the boys are on fire. I have tickets for three shows in October, I can't wait!"
Man, the setlists have been unreal for the past month and a half or so! It has been an absolute treat to go see their shows....I can't wait to see what they will be doing for all the folks seeing them in October. So jealous you guys got Bella Donna, November Blue, and In the Curve and the new Open Ended Life, and of course my fave Left on Laura/Lisa!
What a great set...
I've GOT to see Please Pardon Yourself live. I bet Bella Donna was beautiful. I so wish I could have been there, after seeing them on Friday, I'm still riding that aftershow buzz.
On a side note, I got to meet Scott the night before in St. Louis, and mentioned to him that we drove from Michigan. He asked what part, I told him, he said he liked Michigan a lot. I said something about Telling Time being also known as Pretty Girl from Michigan and how that made me happy and how much I liked that song (sorry my memory is a little vague on what I said, I was totally freaking out on the inside) anyway, he just smiled graciously and said something like "thanks so much, glad you like it"
And the next night you guys get PGFMichigan...
Small, small chance it had anything to do with me bringing it up, but what a cool coincidence right?
very cool blaire- totally missed that there was a VV party beforehand...sounds sweet!
awesome set! had to make the unfortunate call of cancelling our KC trip yesterday from STL, as I had to bring the kids and the forecast was crappy. I did not want to have 3 cold and wet kids at the show. I hadn't bought the tix so at least I didnt lose out on that....sigh...please pardon yourself......bummer for me. I am so thankful for the awesome STL show though, and am happy for all those who got this awesome KC show! thanks for the reports!
How do I get Pretty Girl From Michigan into my itunes? I know there's like 3 different names... I can't find it anywhere, none of my friends have it and I haven't even found it listed on this website. What album is it on?
Oh, and the show was just fantastic. I'm so happy they played PG MI, Denouncing Nov. Blue and Bella Donna. Go To Sleep was soooo perfect with the Joe's transition in from PG MI.b
I believe its unreleased
Love this setlist! Sounds like another fantastic show.
JimCholewa, PG from Michigan (aka Telling Time) is unreleased, but there's video and a free download of the old version here:

Edit- Dang it! Beaten out by Lovelikethemovies.
lovelikethemovies, thank you for posting the link
I had never heard this song. Curious though- I noticed in these KC discussions that there are 2 versions of this song- what's the details about that?
You're welcome, kindermama
The "old" version is the acoustic version from the Laundromatinee session, and the "new" version is the one they've been performing lately, with Scott on keys. Here's my video of the keys version from the Vegas show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wd7S1be9wSs
awesome! thanks! I can't tell you how much fun I am having gaining new knowledge about TAB. I have been searching for a new band to really love for a long time, as I am an old Deadhead.......I am like a kid in a candy store for the last 8 mos since discovering their music. (closet noob here lol)
Thanks so much!!! Great band, awesome fans. Just got a call from a great friend from the OK show, playing November Blue!!
Also, anybody at the acoustic set in Best Buy that morning? It was awesome, but that last song, was that a cover of Roger Miller? I'm not sure what the deal is I just tried to google some lyrics I remembered.
Looks like it was Where Have All the Average People Gone, which they play relatively often: http://www.theavettbrothers.com/us/forums/92510-kansas-city-mo-best-buy
Thanks for the set list. I remembered all the songs but not the order. Much appreciated. It was my first Avett show and hopefully not my last. What an amazing time. I was blown away. Despite the mud and the crappy weather it was a great night. The energy and passion they have is unreal. Colorshow and Go To Sleep were my favs and Talk on indolence was a great way to close the show. Open ended life was really good. I took my best friend who had only heard a few songs and he loved it as well.
