Ace of Cakes/Avetts in Baltimore

I heard there may be something going on with the Avetts and Ace of Cakes when they are in Baltimore. That's about all I've heard, has anyone else heard anything? Anyone else ever watch the show? I do sometimes, it's pretty fun.

I hadn't heard that, but I would love to know if it's true - how fun would that be. I like watching Ace of Cakes. I hate fondant though (I'm a frosting purist) so none of their cakes are particularly appealing to me, but I can really appreciate how difficult it must be to make those things.

It's a show on Food Network -- it's about a bakery in Baltimore called I believe Charm City Bakery or Charm City Cakes or something like that (which is how I learned Baltimore is aka Charm City. See, TV *is* educational!) and they make these really elaborate, (usually) multi-tiered, fabulously designed and intricate cakes. And the staff is marginally funny, so there's usually some sort of plot line in each episode.

Didn't make the Charm City connection until I took my son to a skate park in Baltimore called Charm City and then saw Leo's screen name.
I'm intrigued by the Avetts and Cakes. What could they possbily be doing?

My bet would be that Charm City cakes is potentially making a cake for the I&L&Y album release party. Hopefully in the form of a banjo, guitar, bass, cello, hi hat and kickdrum. That's a whole lotta cake. OM NOM NOM.

That's two years old, though, Looney. And TAB did do an in-store there a couple years ago. maybe that's how they met the Ace of Cakes folks. But where is that live EP???

hahaha. I recently moved near baltimore and I just read that entire article and was wondering HOW I never heard of this...well maybe because it's 2 years old haha and I lived nowhere near "charm city" at the time.

I hope it's true. This would pretty much be the best thing that ever happened to my tv watching habits.
I can find out -- Generally, Duff and the gang on Ace of Cakes are fans of Clutch. (My boyfriend's sister is married to one of the band members.. Duff and Mary Alice are always wearing Clutch stuff).

I see that the Ace of Cakes show is set to rerun The Avett Brothers episode on Feb. 1st on Food Network. I've only seen clips of this so it'll be a real treat to see the whole episode! I'm going to DVR it!
