hey, my highschool is putting on a talent show on st patricks day. My good friend Tom and I are playing a mix of original and cover tunes for the performence. We were considering doing a banjo/guitar cover of "go to sleep". we recently found out that mr ramsuer himself will be attending the tryout, should we still cover it or would it seem weird?

You know what would be funny? If you intentionally pointed him out and before playing said "this one goes out to a special someone in the crowd..." or something. He'd find that hilarious I think...
haha i was briefly considering saying " well i know someone in the room knows this one" or even " I hope that Dolph ramsuer will understand"
I think that saying "I hope Dolph Ramseur will understand" would be pretty funny, considering the song your playing--especially if you said it during the appropriate verse in lieu of the actual lyrics "I hope the people on the ground will understand"
how did this turn out in the end?
yeah killster, that where we would have done it,
umm we ended up going with to originals since that is what Mr.Ramseur advised,
we ended up coming in second place and got a bunch of ramseur records merchandise and stuff.
