Album Review in new Paste

Album Review in new Paste

I am not sure if this has been mentioned, but we just got our Paste in the mail and there is a VERY good review of the new album, even gave it a 96!

Not sure if it is online at Paste yet.

Saw it! They also made the top 16 of new albums coming out too!
(and I just got some bonus points!).

Thanks for reminding me...just checked the mail and there it was....great review!

"Pianos trickle before the storm, strings ball up their fists, swells and waves of sound wash over the Avett's sorghum-sweet harmonies. And this is just in the first song."

I love Paste. Paste loves the Avetts. I guess I have read a hundred articles on TAB, and this one is definitely in my top ten. Actually increased my love for the new album.

Rejoice always, Mark

is it online anywhere?

I wish I still got Paste. :[ I'm with Zach, I would love to read this article. I searched the site but it's not up yet.

Good to know it received such a favorable review, though!

It's not the chase that I love - it's me following you.

This is a great review. 96. Buy the issue- here's a taste-

"The Avett Brothers (Scott and Seth, plus bassist Bob Crawford and cellist Joe Kwon) no longer belong solely to the indie cult. But to concentrate on the names and dollar signs and intentional pining for mass appeal is to ignore the far more important point- for the Avett Brothers to make this record took ginormous, pendulous testicles. Having conquered every Saturday night music hall and holler between Asheville and Portland, they have made a record that is not just a stab at the mainstream- it's a harpoon through its sternum."

I might miss the meaning, but I’m catching the truth

Ouch! Just walked across the street and bought the issue of Paste … $6.50? Really? But it was a great review!

"This is the plight of the Avett Brothers fan: He must keep a stiff upper lip as his heroes trek off into the great unknown mainstream."

So true.

I got to glance at the article today. Went to pick up the I and Love and You vinyl, but couldn't afford the magazine too. Can ANYONE transcribe this thing? 6.50 is a lot to ask for 1 review.

no kidding manderfrog... that's my favorite part... i laughed out loud when i read it.
