Most folks seem to think that the upgrades happen pretty quickly. My inbox is empty, so just wondering...

I think just the opposite...you don't hear anything until a week or so before...if you are lucky

according to what the email said it will be a week before the show...i am praying for some luck on this one.

For the early entry, it's a week before the show.
For the upgrade, it's within a week of buying the tickets.
I haven't received an e-mail, but I'm hoping hard!
No no no. The upgrade has to happen sometime this week, because AA will resell those tickets on the site. It might have already happened, and the upgrades went to people that don't post here.
The only thing you find out about the week before the show is whether or not you have one of the first 30 tickets.

masuther, I guess I just assumed that if a person was crazy enough about the Avetts to get on and buy tickets on the presale within 2 minutes, then they probably at least lurk on this board at the very least. If noone on here has heard ANYTHING, I would guess that the chances of NOONE being upgraded yet are pretty high!
Thus, the glass is still half full.

For the general admission shows, the buyers of the first 30 tickets sold will be allowed into the venue before the doors open (early entry). If you are one of these lucky buyers, you will be emailed 1 week before the show with instructions for early entry.
For the reserved seated shows, a handful of presale buyers will be upgraded to the front row! If you are one of these lucky buyers, you will receive an email letting you know that your tickets have been upgraded within a week after your purchase.
I had not noticed before that it seems one or the other is offered, depending on whether the show is GA or seated? Correct?
Did anyone actually get "pit" tickets for Savannah? I have row A and I am hoping that is indeed front row, it is according to the site map, but it does also show a pit area...
If they use the pit row A will not be front row. I would expect there to be three or four rows in the pit.

I believe there are 3 rows in the pit area. AA was selling pit tickets in the 3rd row.
They're using the pit.

I got a phone call yesterday from AA upgrading us to 2nd row center for the June 2nd NY show. We're so excited! We're taking a roadtrip from MI to see them in Toronto and NY. I'm not sure if we are in the first 30 for the Toronto show. I should have asked while I had a real person on the phone but I was too excited abiut the upgrade.
Gahhhhhhh, I hope I get upgraded! Happy for you!!
congrats but...HUH?? AA got their sh!t together enough to give you a PHONE CALL telling you that you got upgraded? why does everyone else get an email?

we got an email the day after presale saying we'd been upgraded to front row pit for the Savannah show!
it said "a second confirmation email will be sent shortly," but that email never came. so I think we'll call the AA people on monday to doublecheck.
I love that the Avetts do this sort of thing - it shows that they care about their dedicated fans having a great time!
