Just want to say it was great to see all the Avett family again. Can't wait till the next show! Music and Company was awsome! We heard a couple of songs never played before that I've seen. Special night all in all. ThanksTim for the special night!

I almost forgot to mention this! We invited two new Avett fans to the show last night...these were their exact words. " We've been to many concerts..and by far that was the best show we've ever seen! And we've seen a lot of show from some really big names. Nothing comes close to how great this one was."

I've become not the man that I was.

I imagine the boys were really, really pumped...Full of pent-up energy. That's exactly how I felt the first time I saw them, too, SM. In fact, the husband and I were literally speechless and didn't say much at all until a few miles down the road from the venue.
last nights poster is up now at www.statusserigraph.com! Its printed with metallic silver ink!
Had to buy a poster to remember a great night!
Snow got heavy and then stopped halfway on our 2 1/2 hour drive to Athens. Spent another 20 minutes looking for a place to park, but it was all uphill after that. Just a few bullet points.
- Needed change at the parking garage and a guy gave me 4 quarters while refusing to take my dollar.
- Great respect to Mitch M. who agreed to buy my two extra balcony tickets then picked up a couple of 2nd row tickets - but still followed through with me. Very upright, Mitch and great meeting you.
- The Low Anthem! An amazing band. Listen carefully to the lyrics. Enjoy the excellent musicianship. Buy the CD.
- Staff at the venue: Best of the Decade. Very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Wish that was universal, but we know it isn't.
- Best Sound of the Past Year.
- Best Fans - Lifetime Achievement Award. Don't want to offend anyone, but this was my third show in SW Ohio and I have been impressed every time by the perfect blend of enthusiasm and respect. Very, very few idiots for such a large house. "Athens, I ain't never felt nothing so strong!" - Scott
- Best First Show of a Tour. OK, I am not sure how many I have been to to compare, but we found that Scott, Seth and Joe all agreed it was an exceptional first show. The boys' voices were flawless, and the set was amazing. Check it out.
- Got to see too many old friends to list and risk leaving someone off the list. Special thanks to Lamar and Tonya for their hospitality.
- Got to visit with Pete, Dane, Seth, Joe and Scott (in order of appearance) after the show. Priceless.

Rejoice always, Mark
Nice seeing you again, Mark! Also, Mary Ellen, Rhonda, Leslie, and Tim (sorry I missed you, Allie), it was great seeing you again as well.
I'm glad that everyone else had as good of a time as we did. I have little to add that hasn't already been said. The sound was great, the setlist was solid, and the crowd was pretty respectful (there was a loud drunk guy a few rows behind us, but we were toward the back of the venue, so that's a risk we took)
Meeting the guys again was truly a joy. We all had a good feeling they would come out, since there was no show tonight. They were real troopers for sticking it out in the cold with us like that, and I even saw them give some guy roadside fan service
Also, I randomly met Nate Farley (former guitarist for Guided By Voices and The Breeders, to name a few) outside the show, smoking a cigarette. He's a fan. Pretty awesome.
I knew I would have a great night regardless of how the show was, but boy did they make sure everyone had the best night possible. Offering came out of nowhere, and it was amazing. It was great seeing a lot of familiar faces, and meeting more people after the show. It's always nice to be able to talk to the band after the show. Even though it was freezing outside, they all made sure every person got a picture and had a nice conversation. Scott even complimented my jacket! Or maybe he was just cold, and wanted to steal it.
Nate is from Dayton , and a really good guy. I've been friends with the Deal sisters since I was a teenager. Glad you had fun Ryan.
Just want to echo all that's been said already. Very respectful crowd, in my opinion. Great setlist - Offering, November Blue, and Denouncing were all treats. The guys were absolutely on fire. At one point, during I Killed Sally's Lover i think, my girlfriend (who was witnessing her first show) turned to me wide-eyed and said HOW DOES SCOTT DANCE LIKE THAT?? Also, it never ceases to amaze me how much these guys give back to their fans. Seth, Joe, Scott, and Bob all came out in the freezing cold and talked until every person had an autograph, a picture, or whatever. Just capped off a great night.
Mark and yogini (terribly sorry, I'm not sure if I ever caught your actual name!), it was a pleasure meeting you. Mary Ellen, it was great seeing you and thanks again for the Merlefest ticket.

Nothing's good because nothing lasts. And all that comes, it comes here to pass.
I would voice my pain, but the change wouldn't last.
All that comes, it comes here to pass.
I am so jealous of all you people who went to this one. I was so about to come up from Georgia, but it just didn't work out. November Blue is my fave song of theirs, I think. I kept thinking, if you make the trip, you will be rewarded, but it just didn't happen. Hearing they played November Blue and Offering now makes me SICK I missed it!!!! UGH!!! next time the gut feeling is there I am going. Glad you guys got to partake in the first show after their long break. Sooooooo jealous. I want to see them in Europe soo bad but just bought a condo and can't afford it. Waaaaaahhhhh. Lol.
