Best venue in Charlotte,NC may be closing

The Neighborhood Theater is currently looking for a buyer. If one is not found they will be closing their doors in March. The Neighborhood th, has been a center peice of the Charlotte music scene for years as well as a huge part of the Noda community. To lose this venue would be a huge loss. i'm sure this is in direct correlation with the live nation owned Fillmore opening last year. I pray that an investor will surface and save this wonderful venue. I'm sure anyone whom has aver been to a show there understands this. I unfortunatlely never saw the Bros . there but know they put on some epic shows there. Please pass the word along in hopes that someone/ or a group of someones is willing to make the investment in the Charlotte music scene.

NOOOO?!?!
This is my favorite local venue. I'd buy it, just to keep it going, if I had the jack.
That's terrible news. I haven't even checked out the Filmore yet. I almost saw BB King, but tix were like 80 bucks or some obsene s*** like that. This sucks ass.
I hope the Filmore doesn't kill The Visualite. Bastards.

This is indeed very sad news. The Filmore is a nice venue I have not see a show there but took a little tour while down there for the Counting Crows show. I believe it holds about twice as many people as the Neighborhood theater. I would not think it is the reason for closing the Neighborhood. It changed hands a few years ago and life went on. I hope they find a cool buyer.

I agree Sunday... i have seen very few acts that have played the Filmore, but would've normally played The Neighborhood.... I love the Neighborhood and hope they find somebody(s) to take it over....

i gotta say though, there have been fewer concerts that have really perked my interest recently to go and the calendar for 2010 doesn't look all that great... I wonder how the Visulite is doing...

I always thought the Neighborhood was doing so much better b/c of the renovations, etc....

I love the theater too, but agree that I rarely see anyone playing there that appeals. I saw Band of Horses there and it was packed, sold out I think. I have seen STARS there and in the past they have drawn a few obscure shows that were great...Karl Wallinger from World Party and Colin Hay which both had decent turnouts. The Drive by truckers are on the calendar, but they just did an awesome show at The visulite, so I dunno. Nothing about the Fillmore appeals to me...and I have heard that the security/bouncers are beasts! I never saw the brothers at the Neighborhood,(shame, boatloads) except for the I & L & U video shoot, so I will always have a fondness for that place and I hope somebody does step up and rescue it...

Brothers...are you listening??? I'll manage it for you ; )

I

FYI theres a free show at the venue on friday night. I've never seen the headliner, The Mantra before, but i've heard good things. its free so wtf.

The mantras put on a killer show

IF they close, P-Funk will be a good note to go out on....
The Machine (Pink Floyd cover band) put on a helluva show tonight @ The Visualite.
