Did someone request PGF Locust?? I am green with envy!!!

Oooh Locust, lucky! Does this mean Die Than Grow is going to be part of the regular rotation?

Wonder what the unknown song was during sound check!

Very nice! How does one go about hearing the soundcheck?

I'm more excited that they are tampering with Telling Time again.

to hear soundcheck you just need to be there early and hope for an open window or not-so-soundproof venue.

Tear Down The House was awesome. flawless.

Been a fan of these guys for awhile, finally got to my first show last night. Needless to say, I'll be checking these guys out whenever the oportunity arises in the future. Highlights for me were Salina, Head Full of Doubt, Denouncing November Blue, Talk on Indolence.
Picked up the poster for $20 too.
Quick question... do the shows generally circulate around here? Saw a couple rigs set up, but didn't see a section of the board for torrents or d/ls

Bec did you tell Scott about our old Chevy Citation? That's hilarious. Maybe he'll throw in Subaru Brat at some point in the future!

i <3 locust.

The unknown song was just this riff they played for about 15 seconds. Almost familiar, but I couldn't place it. Sorry to get your hopes up, but no cool new song.

Seth apparently said that someone in the audience loves Locust, so they got it together right before show time. I don't know who he meant, but there were indeed at least a few people who love it. Eye-wink

They played most of Telling Time and then kept drifting in and out of it for a long time, about 10 minutes of doodling. I think Yellow Ledbetter was played in there as a quick verse. Scott did a fine Eddie Vedder impersonation.

posterdan, the official policy allows for personal taping but no sharing. Hence no links to downloadable shows. Fortunately there are quite a few online shows available for streaming and/or downloading.

Third time seeing them and easily my favorite show! Started out the most relaxed/ low key with pretty much the whole crowd sitting down (did not approve of this). The song selection was pretty epic with them playing Colorshow, Talk on Indolence, I Killed Sally's Lover, Down With The Shine, Die Then Grow, a beautiful version of Tear Down the House, Paranoia, Shame, Pretty Girl From Cedar Lane, Denouncing November Blue.... Soooo many favorites. By the end of the concert everyone was on their feet and loving it. The theatre had great accoustics which definitely helped, but as usual it was the Brothers energy which carried the show. Also, I was able to snag a Setlist after the show which is pretty cool to have from a show I enjoyed this much, its got a few crossouts where you can see they changed songs and a ? mark for one song where I guess they were undecided about what to go with ( I think it was in the position where they played Roll in My Sweet Baby's Arms). If people are interested I could post a picture of the setlist, but i guess its not that exciting haha.

T, wonder if Locust was for you? I don't remember Seth saying that, but cool. it was beautiful--didn't expect it, so it was even more amazing. I agree, Addicted, Tear Down the House was really beautiful, and I thought that Laundry Room was really beautiful the way it was very subdued. In fact, the only thing I liked about the subdued crowd is the affect it had on songs like TDTH and Laundry Room. They said Talk on Indolence was a request, too, and it had been awhile since I'd seen it--shocking how many people had no problem sitting through that. The sound was really great.

jmcbulls--if there is anywhere that people would get excited about the setlist, it's here--sure, post it!! I like to know what they changed their mind on, even though sometimes it breaks my heart (ALMOST getting Airport in Charlotte last year....)

KCJONEZ I'M GOING TO BROMAN YOU WHAT DID SETH SAY?!?!?

i got the setlist in Detroit Smiling

Yes, would love (I think) to see the setlist crossouts! Matt- nope, didn't tell him. Did you feel as cool as I did in that car since it wasn't a saab?! So funny.
The sound was really good where we were sitting, and I really enjoyed the setlist...it was sooo hard to stay seated through the faster songs, but I did the chair dance thing as best I could.

Which song was it where, at the beginning, Scott and Seth were switching off and Seth didn't sing into the mic, just out into the audience? I can't remember and I can't match it up with any of the songs on the setlist.

What an AWESOME concert.

Enjoy : )

So it looks like the crossed out I Would Be Sad... That makes me sad, haha. Seriously though, the version of Tear Down The House was so good it's hard to complain.

Ha! "Than"!!! They were hemming and hawing about the spelling for "Die Than Grow" after the show, and they used the "a" in the set list. Fascinating (in my best (not so good) Spock voice).

Maybe they couldn't remember what Rolling in my sweet baby's arms was called. Laughing out loud

lovesjoyajm, I know exactly what song you're talking about and I can't remember what it was either. I'll check my pictures and see if I can figure it out.

T - it was Scott who said that Seth knew someone who loved Locust. Was it you? I didn't ask, sorry. Should have, I suppose.

Hm. I know that in Toronto Seth verified with me that I was the person to love Locust. And I saw him before the show in Bethlehem. I mean, not to jump to conclusions... darn I wish I could have stayed & waited by the bus with you all! That Seth.

Oooh, great call on the Die Than Grow, during the show I was telling my brother how no one is quite sure which "than" they mean, and then didn't even notice after the show that they wrote it on the setlist!

Kcjonez - I figured it out. It was Laundry Room - there is a video on YouTube!

"Which song was it where, at the beginning, Scott and Seth were switching off and Seth didn't sing into the mic, just out into the audience? I can't remember and I can't match it up with any of the songs on the setlist"

yep, I was just about to say Laundry Room--it was beautiful!
T, makes sense. Did they say that after the show? so sweet. Smiling

We also asked both Seth and Scott if it was Die Then or Than Grow. I assumed Than, but both had to think about it. Well, Seth seemed less sure. Scott says at first it's Than, but it turns into Then. But Seth was saying that he didn't know b/c they didn't really ever write it out--though, obviously they have, but I'm thinking that Scott wrote that setlist. He said the first Than is you'd rather die than go on. But it changes. He commented that it used to be called Anita (as we know) and was supposed to be on I and Love and You.

So I just thought it was worth mentioning that I got a recording of this legendary Tear Down The House...

The video isn't very good, but the audio is - and that's what really counts, right? Please try to ignore my friend who states halfway through, "Scott just looked at me!" He didn't. But anyway....

Thanks for posting the picture of the setlist!

-Carolyn

Thanks for sharing, TheNamingOfThings - Seth's voice is really beautiful in this. Your friend made me laugh Smiling

Can't remember during which songs, but how beautiful was that couple slow dancing just behind Orchestra (the only ones standing AND directly in front of me and in my view of band but it just added "something" to the scene) for a song or two? Scott cordially thanked them afterwards. What class, poetry and poignancy. I cannot wait for Radio City.

I hope the set list I hear tomorrow is similar.

Yup, I'm the one in Carolyn's video saying "Scott just looked at me!" I'm fairly certain he did.
I got a great video of PGF Cedar Lane.
