They're steep at this point, but come on.. I paid $100 to see them play six songs before Dave Matthews went on. Bonnaroo is going to be so much better.

Well, it's not so much the money, as the distance and the logistics, what day they're playing, etc.

yeah - I've been wanting to head back to Bonnaroo for the past couple of years, but just can't seem to find the right line-up to make me want to drive that drive and wake up in 100 degree heat, again....

this year is no different - a lot of the smaller bands are great but the headliners just don't make me want to pay that kind of money and deal with all the other aspects

ya'll have fun though - i'm sure it'll be a blast

Well Locust, Mount Pleasant, Concord.... LETS GOOO!

I agree with Drew. I'm not going to shell out $230+ for DMB and KOL as headliners. The line-up is really disappointing.
However, IF I was to go, I'd def check out GWAR. Just for kicks.
Britsol R&R, Music on the Mountaintop, Merlefest, and possibly All Good will do it for me this year, as far as festivals.

$230? Yeah, I'll probably be at home come Bonnaroo time.

Well if you are in the central NC area please consider the Shakori Hills Festival. It is my second favorite music festival, running just slightly behind Bristol Rhythm and Roots. It’s four days, four stages, of great music and friendly crowds.

i think the small to medium sized festies are the ways to go now a days. I hate having to miss bands i love because of conflicting schedules,
better weather, cheaper tickets, and fewer scenesters. But everyone should hit bonaroo at least once you'll def have a good time, and I'm sure the Avetts will kill it.

im a big dmb fan and would love to see them, avett brothers, and she&him, but its more money than i can spare right now, i'm bummed, i was hoping perhaps the avett brothers would make their way east coast and id get to see them in jersey or new york or somethin, but no such luck from what i see :\

For all of you worried about the price of Bonnaroo, why don't you just volunteer? I've volunteered at a bunch of festivals, and it is ALWAYS worth it. Working at a festival/concert is better than not going at all (and you might even get stuck with work back stage if you're lucky, that's how I met George Clinton and Toubab Krewe).

i did think about volunteering but you have to provide your own shelter and stuff, something ill definitely consider for next year perhaps, maybe avett brothers will do it again, im sure they will rock it

Well, you big babies, I will be at both Bonnaroo and Merlefest this year. They will be great and you know it. And hello... Stevie Wonder will be there. Where is your attitude now?! What excuses will arise this time..

swarheely, you have to provide your own shelter for the entire festival, not just volunteer time. I've posted about this before but, volunteering though cleanvibes after the festival is the way to go. You just clean up the camp sites and get to meet super cool people. You don't miss any of the music during the festival and get the day off monday to hangout or go into town.
