Carolina Chocolate Drops on World Cafe
Just wanted to make sure everyone knew that the Carolina Chocolate Drops are on The World Cafe today! I can't wait! Check your local NPR or I know that www.wyso.org has live streaming and airs The World Cafe from 1-3 pm.
Here's what The World Cafe has to say about them:
"The Carolina Chocolate Drops are truly dedicated to reviving the music of the early 20th century Black string bands from the South. With every show you get historical perspective and luckily a totally spirited performance. That is what we get today from the trio."

Just caught them for the first time on Friday. Amazing artists & talent
I've only seen them on clips from youtube, so I'm anxious to hear a live performance.

Decide what to be and go be it
Very very excited for this! seen them a few times, and caught both there sets at bonnaroo, got to hang out with Dom and Justin after one of there shows in KY, extremely nice guys!
i saw their album at barnes & noble when i spent two hours sampling CDs!! they were impressive
i loved every bit of their music, i don't think i would have appreciated it fully it wasn't for TAB. in general, traditional bluegrass/country is way more appealing to me partly because of them.
they must be excellent live
May I please promote both World Cafe and NPR. Both have done wonderful things in spreading the news of relevant talent.
This is another example.
I agree wholeheartedly Lynn! I found some many amazing artists by listening to NPR and The World Cafe in particular. Almost everyday I listen, I end up writing down artists names or even just lyrics I remember to look up later. I would urge anyone looking for new music to listen, they have a guest artist everyday, as well as a playlist full of today's best and brightest.
I caught CCD on Fresh Air on NPR this past weekend (it's a repeat from March). It was a really cool interview, they get into some of the technical aspects of their music. Rhiannon used to be an opera singer and sings a little sample.
I found the link, I need to listen to the end of it b/c the radio signal ran out.
