Does anyone know how long their set will be on July 2nd @ the Comerica Cityfest in Detroit? I know they go on @ 9 on the mainstage, but I am curious as to how long they will play... a full show perhaps??!!

Are they the closing that stage that night? if not, probably just a typical festival type set.... 1 hr and 15 minutes, perhaps? If they are the last band they may get a bit more time

I believe they close that night so should be a full set.
Of course that depend on the festival venue, so who really knows? But they definitely are closing. -Mrs.Z

We are considering it. It would be a done deal but we leave for vacation on Monday so there is a lot to get in order. If we get a hotel downtown, is it safe?

Indianapolis Mayor Ballard gets mugged in Detroit

According to Mayor Ballard's office, the mayor got mugged over the weekend and had his money and cell phone stolen. It happened Saturday evening while he was in Detroit, Mich. for the NCAA Final Four tournament.
According to police reports, Mayor Ballard was walking back to his hotel after the basketball game downtown on Saturday evening when a man acted as if he were having a seizure. At that point, Mayor Ballard went to offer assistance to the man on the ground. Upon doing so, two to three other male subjects immediately surrounded the mayor at which time one of the subjects reached into Mayor Ballard's pocket and stole his cell phone.
The man whom Mayor Ballard was attempting to help then suddenly got up and fled the scene with the other subjects. Almost immediately, Mayor Ballard realized that his phone had been taken. The Detroit Police Department was notified.

Amelia (freedomrequiem) and I decided early this morning that since we dont have work tomorrow (thanks to the holiday weekend!) we are going to head north for this one! Totally last minute and spontaneous decision, but we are soooo excited! The Columbus, Covington, Lexington run really got us hooked more than ever. We are leaving in about 30 minutes from KY and coming straight to cityfest! Cant wait to see you all there!

Last night and today have been so, so rough work-wise. I'm so thankful to Rhonda and Amelia for calling me to spread some Avett love from Detroit. Y'all will never know how much those calls meant to me; they were just what I needed tonight. My heart is bursting with love for the guys and their fans right now--thanks Avett family.
