I first met Daniel at an Ian McLagan show in Raleigh early in 2005. We started talking music and I told him I had lately become obsessed with a little band out of the Charlotte area called The Avett Brothers. I was surprised when he replied that he was the photographer for Mignonette. Talk about your small world. Since that night I can’t count the times I have run into Daniel at concerts. We talked a bit at this years Merlefest and then again at Chatham County Line’s CD release show a few weeks ago. Everyone should take a look at his other work. I believe he took some of the last photos of Johnny Cash before he passes away.

Wow, this was amazing - love seeing all the old photos and hearing some of the history and Daniel's thoughts. Must be incredible to have been part of their journey from the beginning.
Love how Scott was rocking one of those old Casio watches with the calculator on it. And I didn't know there was an Avett Brothers Day! Shouldn't Avett Nation be celebrating this each year?
