Did anyone see mr slim goodbody? the educational guy from PBS that had the skintight suit that had his inner organs on it?

oh my god!! did he have the curly 70's white guy afro as well?

also, what was the crew dressed as? nobody has mentioned yet. travis? pete? dane? justin?

Bob Ross
Like 3 guys dressed as the guy from the Hangover (I didn't see you though Looney)
Beer Bottle
a "Cash Cow"
Dorothy
Fred Flintstone
at least 2 Hunter S. Thompsons
a guy in a 70s polyester suit that I called "a breathing time machine" and I don't think he got it

Travis had on a big black cowboy hat and a black suit that had music notes/bars on it...

I had on a bandana that said "I Killed Sally's Lover" and like 5 people asked me what that meant! One girl dressed as the Tin Man/Woman did come up and ask to take a picture of it though.
I was not allowed to bring my murder tools into the venue

humpty dumpty on a wall
mr slimgoodbody,
the eye & <3 & ewe trio
popeye
Jeff Fisher (Titans Coach) with the Progressive Insurance lady! Those were really good!
A coulpe of folks dressed as monsters from where the wild things are.

i seen someone on the side walk with big disney hands, and trying to get off these ridiclously large shoes. Couldn't see the face, so I have no dea what they were supposed to be.

not sure of the crews names, but the guy selling shirts was dressed as hank williams with a suit borrowed from Hank III. The guy tuning the instruments was supposed to be Johnny Cash, but I couldn't figure it out. It was more like a black wig. Someone else off the side of the stage was wearing a huge indian headdress. The Hank Williams suit was one of the best I seen all night.

ha...well, i didn't guess the hwiii bit, but from korsasil's description i did guess that he was hw! since it was borrowed from hwiii, was it originally hw's suit? i was thinking that it was a reproduction of a nudie suit, but maybe it was even real?

that disney hands and shoes thing is a hilarious visual.

I think it was a suit made for Hank III. Not an original HW, but made to look like one. I told him I really liked it, and for it to be worn at the Ryman was a big plus. He said he wanted to wear it for the one event, and that he borrowed it from HWIII. He looked just like HW

Nicole Atkins band were dressed as Flying Monkeys, and she was dressed as a witch. She came back out as Dorothy for swept away

that makes sense...i imagine the originals are a bit too precious to lend out!

i do love the dorothy and flying monkeys group costume, too. well done, all.

oops....
I think i saw jack white dressed up like some sort of gnome character.
or maybe it was a gnome dressed up like some kind of jack white character.
either way, i think it was jack white. hope he took a few notes.

wait........Jack White was there??

I am the proud owner of one of the Flying Monkey hats Nicole Atkins' band was wearing... Didn't really go with my lumberjack outfit, but I wore it the rest of the night anyway...

His suit was actually borrowed from Hank III but it was a custom Nudie suit made for Hank Jr....if you read the musical notes going down it, it read Hank Williams Jr...He showed it to me a few nights ago wehn coming through Knoxville...pretty awesome!

Worth: I loved that you wore the hat all night!

I can't remember all the costumes I saw but then I read them and am like "oh yeah I saw them too!"

I'm watching the Titans game now and my fiance just told me that the guy dressed like Jeff Fisher was sitting right beside them. Also a guy dressed like Jesus. I did see a few people in Greek/Toga attire as well.

I saw one kid with a FANTASTIC Scott Avett costume, he was spot on!

I also saw one guy that was dressed as a female. I don't know if he was supposed to be anyone in particular but he had on a white sweater, short-haired red curly wig and a really short, tight, dark colored mini skirt.

oh awesome!! thanks for sharing that, posterguy!

No, Jack White wasn't there (the Dead Weather is touring in Europe this week, I think), but I did see the guy who was dressed as Jack. At least, I think that's who he was supposed to be. Costume-spotting in Nashville was super entertaining...I just wanted to park myself in a restaurant and watch people walk down the street all night.

korsasil- I think we were sitting on the row behind you. I was wondering where your murder tools were.

I was dressed as a bobby soxer and Rusty_Jubilee was a 50's nerd (although someone thought he was PeeWee Herman).

Costumes we saw:

Bret Michaels
Several Cows/Bumblebees/Ladybugs
Mobsters
Bonnie and Clyde
A girl scout
Beermaids (german folk)
Fruit of the Loom fruits
A couple Fred and Wilma Flintstones

KY Team Avett were trailer trash Smiling
also spotted a Sweeney Todd
and a group of people dressed up as books with lyrics from Denouncing:
"Being a Free Man"
"Life in Prison, vol. 1"
"People Don't Know Nothin"
and a girl who I think was Ballad of Love & Hate...?

"korsasil- I think we were sitting on the row behind you. I was wondering where your murder tools were.

I saw both of ya'll as soon as I sat down! He had on glasses with tape in the middle? I thought Rusty_Jubilee smiled in my direction but I didn't know if it was because of my costume or if it was someone I knew.

Yep that was us! I think he was smiling at your costume, I had told him that three folks were dressing as Sally, her lover, and her lover's killer. Great idea!

I went as Alan from The Hangover (Zach Galifianakis' character)

Looney, that is awesome. glad you didn't choose the jockstrap scene. all the costumes sound amazing--would love to see more photos of everyone, esp. the two bands!!!!

Wish me luck, I know you think I'll need it.
For all the hardest roads we have to walk alone.

hahahahahaha billy mays! too soon? never.

Way too soon. Then again, I guess there were plenty of Michael Jackson's this year.

Billy Mays!

But wait there's more...

In any other instance I'd say it's too soon for Billy Mays, but his son was really encouraging people to dress up as his dad.

most of the alan garner guys were post hangover with carlos the baby...i was Pre-hangover with the satchel and skittles...it was funny getting my satchel checked at the front gate and the old guy opens the bag up and its just a bunch of skittles in there... he looked at me like i was on meds

I saw at least 3 Shaggys from Scooby-Doo, someone dressed as a douche bag, my friends dressed as a lumberjack and a fallen angel. I saw one guy that looked like Bob, but I'm not sure what he was actually supposed to be dressed as.

I saw a guy dressed up like Charlie Kelly from It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia - my buddy and I got our picture taken with him. Good times. I also saw a guy dressed up like Bob Ross and his girlfriend was a "happy lil tree". Awesome. Great time had.

jrlooney....me too man....that was easily the 4th bathroom break...i was stoked to see refreshments served at the Ryman...nice meeting you...err...kinda lol

Did you meet Rod - the other "Alan"? He was a super nice guy. He and I did a photo together but I don't know if it'll ever show up anywhere.

My friend Rodge was Billy Mays...

I came as Colonel Sanders.

There were some good ones there. Loved the Royal Tennenbaums.

"From the east it comes, Her love and the rising sun.."

I saw most of the aforementioned costumes. Very cool. Probably my favorite was the guy dressed as Murray from "Flight of the Conchords". Outstanding creativity. The roller derby girls were great too. I was dressed as a patient, complete with catheter bag (filled with Patron Citronage and apple juice), and my friend Heather was a Candy Striper, who was taking care of her patient.

But, but,, Jack White had an entourage and he was taking pictures of himself
Are you sure it wasnt him?

kentukblue- my friend and i were in front of you (dressed as trailer trash) and my friend asked you for a picture of your amazing colonel sanders outfit! I was thinking kentukblue was you, but now its confirmed!

Kill the doubt that strangles my self worth
Paint the picture that I swore I heard

hahaha Korsasil...that guy dressed as a woman was my date. Certainly made for an interesting night...

There's only one thing here worth hoping for.

Haha LeftonLaura that was hilarious! It looked like he was having trouble walking in the skirt..sorta waddling. I must have seen you because I was standing out front when ya'll walked up. Were you dressed up?

Haha yes he was sort of waddling...so funny. People were making comments all night, like "ladies first!" and such...and he got a lot of flack for not wearing heels. Definitely an entertaining date. I think I did see you, but I didn't know it at the time. You saw that I had dropped a ticket on the ground and ran after me to give it to me. It was actually one of those receipts that looks like a ticket but it was very cool of you to pick it up for me! Losing a ticket would have been devastating...Smiling I saw the pictures you posted, and remembered the bandana and eyelashes. So thanks!

--
There's only one thing here worth hoping for.

oops, didn't even answer your question! Yes, I was dressed up as the Tin Woman.

--
There's only one thing here worth hoping for.

Oh yeah! Sorry, your date was so distracting I forgot that "the girl who dropped the ticket" was with the shemale.
Yeah as soon as I saw that hit the ground I was like "NOooo!" If it had been an actual ticket that would have been awful. I would never wish that on anyone (except the jerk scalpers who are trying to sell $500 Avett Bros NYE tickets...) And yeah I saw that it was a receipt as soon as I was handing it to you, so..close call.

Nice to (kinda) meet you!

We all need user-name tags at the next show so we can properly meet. Not being in crazy costumes will probably help too.
